Like I predicted it would at the time, a battle between a candidate representing the DLC faction and the Warren faction. I always envisioned it as a Schweitzer vs Cuomo battle though given his stance on the environment Schweitzer might be a problematic candidate though he'd probably still be in the race but fulfilling more of a generic "populist" niche. Maybe O'Malley would become the frontrunner, he could say something to the effect of "Cuomo is bad on economic issues and Schweitzer is pro gun and pro coal but i'm the perfect progressive." I also wouldn't be surprised though if Gilliband or Klobucher stepped in since after Obama there'd be strong demand for a female nominee, even in the absence of Hillary.

President Kirsten Gillibrand is what would happen.

^^^^

She's basically Clinton's protegee, so she'd be the natural replacement.

This is an interesting one.

I think it'd be Biden VS Gilibrand.

Biden seems to want to be President, and has some insitutional advantages.

Gilibrand is the type of individual Democrats want to nominate, and fairly well-connected.

There would likely be more figures running, and more grandstanding among members of Congress and  Governors.
