3-5 points in Rubio's favor, my guess.

I don't think there will be a "Rubioslide," Wulfric. But he'll probably win by like 2-6 points.

Yeah, the slide may not be all that big, but if you were only listening to the DNC, you'd think that Rubio is super-ultra-safe or something.

Key quotes from this story:

Wow. If Harry Reid, Barack Obama, and Bill (and presumably Hillary) Clinton want to put money into FL-SEN, who could possibly be in the way?

Ah, so Schumer (And by extension, the DSCC) is tight on cash, and Florida is an expensive state, and races like Missouri, North Carolina, and Indiana look more winnable. I guess that's fair. I mean where could they POSSIBLY get more money.

F**k Chuck Schumer. I'm dreading his leadership harder than ever.

Oh God, are we really going to lose the Senate (in 2016 or 2020) because of Chuck Schumer?

Well,
So I assume in the end there will be some investments made back in Florida.

^^^ Why is Chuck Schumer running ads for his own race? He's up by about 40 points, why run any ads at all? Why even campaign with a lead that big?

Notwithstanding the money spent (which, as Jeb! found, may be irrelevant anyway), voters have a  way of taking matters into their own hands. I wouldn't write Murphy off at this stage, but strategically the DSCC's decision makes sense because 3 > 1.

I'm guessing his logic is that the larger the marigin of victory, the less chance he draws a strong challenger in 2022. Being majority/minority leader will likely tank his favorables this term.

It's New York. Republicans could run George Washington against him and Schumer would still win in a landslide.

Because it's Chuck Schumer. Nothing brings him more joy than his own face on TV.
