That sounds exactly like something Grayson would do.

This is why Jolly is an overrated candidate. I would be fine with facing him in November.

All the Republicans v. All the Democrats would be amazing for Grayson and Jolly. Can you imagine the FDP nominating Murphy after turning on Grayson and being destroyed by everyone?

Edit: And for fun, include young Augustus Sol Invictus:

The Libertarian Party's only declared candidate. One of the three controversial front runners for the three parties, he is in part controversial because he admitted to sacrificing a goat and drinking its blood.

fwiw the infamous campaign strategist and Trump surrogate Roger Stone has also mused about running for the Libertarians.

Jolly aint the frontrunner, and I'd be amazed if he won considering the talent that DeSantis has on his campaign.

Oh, so you think it's funny and/or clever to point out how 2 AM is technically Thursday morning. Spoiler: it isn't.

Not really; I just saw "Today" and neglected to look at the exact time. My mistake.

Anyway, if you're asking about the Senate primary, that doesn't happen until August 30

So my old bosses best friend from childhood (a guy who ran for State House a few years back and was a regular in our office) randomly filed for the Senate primary here. He's a nice dude. I might vote for him.

Looks like the new districts are here to stay.

Ok, so I have some connections at the conference down in Hollywood and caught wind of this during the typical back office gossip sessions. I guess since it somehow reached Javier (who by the way, despite being charged with attempted murder recently is still a credible, if not well liked source for information) its safe to talk about.

Basically, Baker decided not to run and is looking at either AG/CFO (I don't think he wants to be Governor, but he could run for that as well). DeSantis is a favorite of the Tea Party, Libertarians, Evangelicals, and all the while has remained palatable to moderate voters. He'd be a much stronger candidate against Murphy. Plus he has some of the best talent in the state on his staff.

CLC has failed to increase his name recognition outside of the various College Republican circuits (he's beloved by those weirdos for some reason) and frankly would be better off running to replace IRL when she retires (if she ever does) down the road. Carlos Beruff is literally a joke candidate-a very wealthy and self funding one, but a joke candidate none the less.

There is also a guy running who was a former State House candidate in 2010. I actually know him from back home and had no idea he filed for the seat. Apparently, my former boss at AFP (and his childhood best friend) didn't know he did either Tongue.

Didn't Crist carried that district easily against Scott?

Yeah, but Crist has the advantage of A) home turf, and B) Scott is Florida's Thatcher. Jolly and Baker could make it a race.

Jolly says he has a "big announcement" to make.  Sounds like he may try to defend his House seat instead of fight through a rough primary, and risk losing.  I've wondered why he wasn't running for his House seat, though the new boundaries have a slight Democratic tilt, he seems like the right type of Republican who could win.

Might this be the "big announcement" he mentioned yesterday (60 Minutes appearance)?  Or is it yet to come?

No idea. I didn't go into the office today since everyone's down in Hollywood for the conclave and the other guys decided to make it a three day weekend. I was hoping to have some back office gossip to report Tongue.
