Guys, please don't act as if Murphy would beat CLC by 20 points and Grayson would lose by the same margin. CLC and Grayson are not to be underestimated and Murphy is not inevitable.
Strawman much?

As if that isn't perpetuated enough by you guys

Are you people actually taking Beet's post in this thread seriously?

Beet has expressed unironic support for Schultz many times, so it isn't really that far off that he's being serious.

And that's the concern. The most hated Democrat, period, whom basically got you guys slaughtered in 2010/14, does not deserve any support.

Because the FDP totally hasn't screwed up before. But I assume Carlos is Rubio's preferred successor, no? Here's the deal. Rubio or Bush is the nominee, they will win Florida and bring the GOP nominee over the finish line with them. They aren't the nominee, this will be a toss up, but do NOT think of Murphy as this unbeatable force of nature. Never underestimate how much a Florida Democrat can screw up, so really, I COULD call this a Tilt R just on that merit alone.

Atwater sees the serious risk of losing the seat if he may be jumping in like this. It's like he knows he's the FLGOP's last resort trump card and is honoring that duty after realizing it won't be easy, which is why  he initially sat out.

And either way, it makes him a caricature of a craven, power hungry establishment pol.  If he has dreams of 2020/24, much better for him to sit this one out and run for governor in 2 years.

Why's that? Cory Gardner did it and it didn't reflect poorly at all.

Adam Putnam is going to be the Republican candidate for Governor in 2018, so that possibility is right out.
Candidate? He'll be the Republican GovernorTongue. Only Graham could make it a race against him and even that seems unlikely.
You are over-confident, and really.

Yes. Gwen Graham is overrated. So is Patrick Murphy.

Rubio was shown to consistently lead Murphy, who is vastly overrated. And what's to say that Grayson won't win the primary?

So you celebrate when Rubio doesn't run because you're afraid of him beating your golden child Murphy, but now that he's likely getting back in you're acting all cocky. Which is it??

If he loses, at least he actually lost and didn't just essentially give his seat away.

No? If he loses he's damaged goods forever. If he stayed out and Murphy won, he could blame Drumpf and the GOP Senate nominee and still run again.

I was more trying to say "hey at least he tried."

TN Volunteer, please quit posting about Florida politics until you manage to sit outside one of the top Florida politicos office for eight months. Then you'll know what is going on.

Good god, this so much. TNVolunteer nearly all of your Florida posts have been wildly wrong and completely baseless.

Huckabee won't clear the field with the RPOF's help-I worry about a President Trump or the RNC jumping in to push him because he's a big name. Sorta like Rubio seeking reelection-DeSantis could have kept on going against him, and perhaps even beat Rubio, but the RNC and Trump pushed him out.
Huckabee wouldn't be able to clear a field of candidates considering he was a politician from Arkansas. Plus, big names in Florida like Adam Putnam and Jeff Atwater are likely planning to run for Governor and could defeat Huckabee.

If Huckabee is actually interested in holding political office in Florida, though, running against Bill Nelson in 2018 for his Senate seat could provide a better opportunity from him. As I mentioned above, a lot of the rising stars in Florida are looking at running for Governor in 2018, so Republicans may be looking for a big name to run against Nelson for the Senate seat. Huckabee could take advantage of that, and with a President Clinton likely being unpopular, maybe he would have a shot at winning (but he'd likely still be the underdog against Nelson).
Atwater is in my view a relatively bland candidate compared to Putnam. I don't think the gubernatorial race will attract as many candidates as the Senate race, especially if Nelson retires, which is unlikely.

Luckily for you, Trump won't be President.

Wait for the debates to make such a definitive statement
