Maybe Israel shouldn't spy on us, then.  Or decry a two-state resolution to further petty political gain.  Edit:  Tongue

mccain should get over the seven-year-long-and-counting temper tantrum he's been throwing since obama gave him a good thrashing

Gee, what a surprise, the guy who sung "Bomb bomb bomb Iran" sides with warmonger Netanyahu on Iran.

So we're just believing the latest convenient anti-Israel libel, huh?

Not surprised. Obama has been known to just make up sh**t to demonize his enemies when convenient.

Does McCain care about anything other than Israel, Iran, or Russia?  He certainly seems uninterested in America.

Are you referring to the spying thing or the decrying a two-state solution for petty political gain thing? Because the latter is demonstrably true, but I'd be willing to entertain the notion that the former is a false or disingenuous accusation.

The former.

It's a very convenient accusation to make at a time that the President is actively trying to rally anti-Israel sentiment so he doesn't lose a PR battle with a foreign country for the second time in six years. As far as I can tell, there's no proof, and it's rather disingenuous to make the accusation in the first place given all the recent reveals about US spying on allies.

John McCain and all the other Israel lovers need to wake up and smell the coffee. America needs to stop unconditionally supporting a country that commits countless human rights violations and slaughters millions of innocent Palestinians in the name of their invisible friend in the sky.

I'd say trying for WWIII is quite the maverick act.

Interesting, I always thought that butting into international negotiations via a letter to Tehran because you didn't win the election and can therefore not launch a war on Iran was more of a temper tantrum.

Recent events have shifted me from moderately pro-Israel to pretty strongly Israel-critical and even from that standpoint I have to say that this is one of the worst, most hyperbolic statements on the subject I've seen.

1. 'Countless' is a wild exaggeration.
2. 'Millions' is a wild exaggeration.
3. Many or even most of the founders of the State of Israel and of the Zionist movement in general were atheists. Religious Zionism is stronger than it used to be but still not nearly as strong as you seem to think it is. Likud does not present itself as a religious party.

I cannot honestly believe how the nationalism and patriotism of the Republican hawks crumbles when it comes to Israel. If any other nation had spied on the US, John McCain would be calling for air strikes.

Republicans consider Netanyahu to be more of their leader than the President.

Reducto ad anti-semitism.

To be fair "millions" is an exaggeration but I think it's telling you compare it to the blood libel of Medieval Europe.

It's making up a horrible charge designed to inflame people against Jews. It's exactly the same thing.

The casualty rate of the on-off Israeli war against the Palestinian militant groups is in the thousands. Any claim of "slaughtering millions" is the height of evil anti-semitism - and, by the way, whether it's said or not, is clearly intended to invoke the Holocaust.

Which is a shame.  But then the existing Zionist policies of Ghettoization and Lebensraum haven't raised much of an uproar, so while it's sad some have gone to the extreme of asserting that they've gone to the next step when they haven't yet and I see no indications that they will anytime soon.  Maybe in a few decades a return to the tactics of the Irgun to get the Palestinians to flee the West Bank for elsewhere, but I can't imagine that wholesale extermination would ever be in the cards.
