Losing reelection is kind of a big deal.

He was not a serious candidate for the general election, though.

There will not be a male Democrat nominee, and even if there was, still no.

I don't think it's bold at all. The only possible scenario in which Hillary loses the primary is if Warren (also a woman) runs. On the off chance that Hillary dies or something, she'd likely be replaced by a woman to protect against backlash among female voters.

In the unlikely event there's a male nominee, there are other women to choose from.

However, I don't think Hagan's narrow loss would be a dealbreaker.

If her defeat isn't a dealbreaker, her popularity sure as hell is.

popularity?

most of the country doesn't know of her to like or dislike her (or care if she lost a senate race in 2014)

I think it can safely be said if WalterMitty ever proposes someone for VP (Martha Coakley lol) they're a terrible pick.

Love Walter but his endorsement is the opposite of the Colbert bump. Guaranteed embarrassing loss for anyone he backs.

Yeah.....didn't he just start to like O'Malley once Hogan won and he became even more irrelevant?

She runs for the Senate seat in 2016 or gives up on politics.

My point is that if she's that unpopular in her home state, the Democratic nominee won't consider her.
