He would be a great pick. Could make Maine competitive or even lean Republican like Castro who would make TX a blue state.

Christine O'Donnell could make Delaware solid R. Since it's the first state and has no sales tax it could help with low income blue collar workers in the suburbs.

He could be Christie's VP. Together they can bring back the Northeast Rockefeller Republicans and also bring in white ethnic Reagan Democrats.

Much too controversial. Won't even say gaffe-prone because he means what he says.

I can't think of who I'd compare LePage to.  He's kind of like a Claude Kirk who got re-elected, and that's pretty scary.

Here's a question:  How much different is Paul LePage  today from Spiro Agnew in 1968?  Agnew, who turned out to be a cheap crook, got to be Nixon's VP and was famous for going out on the stump and pushing the envelope.  (Remember "nattering nabobs of negativism"?)  The events that bounced Eagleton from McGovern's ticket and Agnew from the Vice Presidency are reasons why VPs are more seriously vetted these days, but LePage comes off to me as the new Spiro Agnew.

Nah, when Ted Cruz wins the nomination, he should look at someone from a battleground state like Washington or Minnesota, maybe California.
