Nope. Option 2. Walker is the favorite in Iowa now, but if Cruz, Carson, Paul, or Huckabee are fortunate enough to have their flavor of the month status coincide with the Iowa caucus, there's no reason any of them couldn't win Iowa.

I'd bet all the money I own that Hillary wins the nomination (assuming she doesn't die or have a health issue and need to pull out), but Iowa? It's a caucus, so I'd probably give her "only" ~95% odds there. Walker, absolutely not. He's doing well now, but his lead is far from insurmountable when the election is still 9 months away.

What odds am I being given in this hypothetical bet?  What do I get if I win?  Because I'm obviously not going to make a bet in which I get nothing for being right.

Hillary maybe (but she's not running) but I'm saying neither will win.

I don't agree that the Republicans will go through a 'flavor of the month' this time.

I agree Scott Walker will win Iowa as he is the only midwesterner running (at least right now)

Hillary losing the Iowa caucus would be a huge shock, at least as of 3/29/15. The idea of Walker losing the Iowa caucus wouldn't even surprise me.

What's with you libertarians and your being convinced Hillary won't run?

It seems like a sizable portion of Atlas thinks Hillary Clinton won't run despite the fact that her nascent campaign has been routinely communicating with the press talking about such things as a early-mid April announcement date, fundraising, etc. She also has no more public appearances before her announcement in April. Anyone who thinks Clinton isn't going to at least run has to be totally delusional.

A lot of it is just hope. I've been qualifying as many statements as I can with "if she runs" out of hope. But yeah, she's probably going to run.

Iowa has a history of supporting neighbors and they dont support retreads

Obama
Dole
Gephardt

So Id bet on Walker. Huckabee, Santorum and Ben Whatever will have no appeal beyond evangelicals. Huckabee and Santorum are retreads and Ben Whatever is unqualified.

The Atlas Forum tends to leave the bounds of reality when it comes to Hillary Clinton.
