What's with the huge preference of the Democratic- Republicans among everyone?

Alot of people agree with less government control, greater decentralization of the government, and states rights.
Yeah well basically they had an outlook on government on par with Bono's views.

Yes, they were great in many respects.

However, the Federalists were hardly 'big government' types, they just supported a national bank and such. They were the anti-slavery party, and the true believers in industry.

Ironically, the Jeffersonian Republicans 'out-Federalisted' the Federalists.
