How will Carly Fiorina do in 2016 in comparison to how Michelle Bachmann did in 2008?

Hopefully better. Not really fair to compare her to a loon like Bachmann.

Fiorina will do better. I don't see her winning any states in the primaries, but she'll be considered for the VP slot.

Bachmann got 5% of the vote in Iowa.  Will Fiorina beat that number in either Iowa or NH?  Will she still be in the race by the time IA and NH vote?

I'm mainly asking if she'll be in longer than Bachmann was.

Not a chance. In a GOP primary, conservative star > random centrist Californian.

I'm shocked by the first two responses. No, Carly Fiorina will not be under serious consideration for the VP slot. No, she will never be recognized as a serious candidate. Bachmann was considered a top 3 candidate with Perry and Romney for most of the campaign.

Fiorina will be lucky to close in on 5% in NH (I guess NH at least...), and even if she were to slightly top Bachmann, she will NEVER have a chance.

She will be out of the race before the Iowa Caucus.

Bachmann ran in 2012, not 2008. Some here may actually have blocked it from memory, but she actually managed to top a few polls.

Anyone who believes that Carly Fiorina doesn't win anywhere is surely deluding themselves,  but I agree, if the Republican nominee, needs an attack dog to go after Hillary and be safe in the knowledge of not being called sexist, then not selecting Carly is a no-brainer, her presence on the Republican ticket could conceivably force Democrats to use resources in California they could otherwise use elsewhere. The issues used against her in the primaries, will be the general be less relevant. Being V.P. is not the same as being Prez,  I can imagine the folks in Clintonland will be throwing a major hissy,  I can well believe that if the nominee is Jeb,  Republicans will be accused of not playing fair.

You are talking about someone who recently called for zero-based budgeting because federal employees are "watching porn all day." It may be unfair to compare her to Bachmann - personally I think that Donald Trump or Herman Cain is a more telling prototype for Fiorina's candidacy - but she's just as willing as any of them to throw out zany lines.

No, she won't lead in any polls, or even break out of low single digits, and she'll probably be out before Iowa.
