Sam Bee and Jason Jones(who are married), are leaving The Daily Show for their own show starring Sam and produced by Jason. Jessica Williams didn't think she was qualified. I'll give Trevor Noah a chance, but I'm not sure how it will work out.

Oh, makes sense then.

With a new no-name host and without Bee & Jones it will be die fast.

Yeah, that really doesn't bode well.

Have you guys seen Jon Stewart's old standup? I never really appreciated it. I don't think standup and the host of The Daily Show necessitate the same skill sets.

After all, Jon Stewart is only Jon Stewart because of The Daily Show. Do you remember who he was before that? He'd had a short-lived TV show and a couple movie appearances, coupled with some meh standup.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Noah.

Stewart sucked, so I imagine this guy will suck as well.

Not a bad choice. I've seen him in some other stuff, and he has an interesting story. Also, my girlfriend has a crush on him Tongue

To me this says "Literally everyone else said no/wanted too much money." I also expect this to be the kiss of death for Wilmore's show, unless Comedy Central surprises me and keeps both political news shows hosted by black guys.

If the show sucks, then Last Week Tonight becomes the de facto Stewart successor.

I guess a half Swiss/half Xhosa South African is an interesting choice.

Noah doesn't seem like a bad choice.

The obvious replacmeents have their shows, and the clips I've seen of his are pretty funny.

He's also hosted stuff in South Africa, and seems like a good match with Wilmore (younger guy with international background followed by middle-aged American.)

However, he might have been a better match for the 11:30 show.

His main schtick is an exxagerated outsider's perspective. That's more Colbert than Stewart.

Jessica Williams didn't think she was qualified.

If she did think that, then that's really sad. She's overqualified to host her own show. I hope she stays on as a correspondent at the least.

If this goes over the way Larry Wilmore's show has gone over, consider my faith in infotainment dead. Wilmore has consistently been one of the least funny hosts of any show. He's got the personality of a damp rag. Trevor Noah also seems very awkward. The show will die quickly and painfully.

Amy Schumer's worth that much when all she has is a no-recognition show on CC?! I love her, and I think she would have absolutely been a better choice, but that seems like an odd placement for her anyway. I don't think I could see her on the Daily Show doing much political stuff.

I agree as someone who also thinks she's hilarious.

Might as well have gone with one of the Broad City gals.

Buzzfeed has discovered some pretty cringe-worthy comments while investigating Noah's Twitter feed.

Most of the tweets that they've flagged are just dumb frat humor, but I laughed when I read this one because it's like something out of the Sage Garden:

So even more coastal elitist than under Stewart..

Stewart was a far better stand up than anything I've heard from Noah.

Noah does better voice impressions than Stewart, so there's that.

I'm sure he'll be shoehorned into more segments over the next year so people warm up to him more.

The linked comments will probably cause him to "stand down" due to who runs the media.

The second tweet was excellent, yes.

Wow, that's even more coastal elitist than me!

Honestly I haven't watched whoever took over at 11:30 after Colbert and I probably won't watch the Daily Show anymore either (I've watched it significantly less after Colbert left).

From his tweets it seems like he would be a better successor to Bill Maher on HBO (which I actually do watch).

Wow. Trevor Noah is even more of a dick than Jon Stewart is. How unsurprising.

I know you are young and foolish, but typically when people are unsurprised they don't use the word "wow."
