As we all know, every person with any managerial responsibility is a mustachioed millionaire who wears a top hat and smokes from one of those cigarette holders while they're driven to work by their butler in a 1925 Dusenberg.

It's a stupid question for obvious reasons, but two that haven't been touched on yet. One is "all else being equal" is something that can NEVER happen. The second is it's not clear what the job is and that makes a huge difference in regards to the boss. Is the boss just some shift supervisor at a retail job? If so he's in the same class as the people he oversees and isn't making a whole lot more than them. If you change it to the CEO or even the regional manager or something you might then have more of a case.

the fact that the answer is often the latter is one of the barriers to organization in the USA.  shared economic interest =/= interpersonal commonality.

This is stupid, there's more to life than one's race, gender, and job position.

If the question is about the CEO of the company instead of just the immediate boss, then the question becomes more valid.

He's certainly far more likely to share the latter's political views than the former's.

Class differences are the only things separating people.

Class differences are the only things separating people.

That is absurd. Gender, culture and religion can be just as influential and personality is a factor as well.

His fellow wage slave, of course.

The working class and the employing class have nothing in common.

Remember that even if your boss is the same race, gender, religion, and nationality as you, listens to the same music, likes the same sports teams, has the same political views, has a similar personality, he/she is in a completely separate class of humans as you are.  You have more in common with the anti-social guy who creeps out all his coworkers.

Sure, if you've ignored everything I've ever posted on the subject:

I seem to recall you referring to abortion on demand and any stage of pregnancy as something akin to infanticide in the not too distant past. How can you seriously claim the title of feminist while also arguing that an arbitrary line drawn by the state should prevail over her bodily autonomy?

Because sometimes we need arbitrary lines in place so we don't have abortions on children that are literally going to be born within the next month?

Don't bother, TNF makes a habit of defending murder outside the womb, so why should he object to murder inside it.

I seem to recall you calling for the death of abortion doctors, so I'm not sure you've got the moral high ground here, DC (not that I really subscribe to the idea that murder is inherently immoral, because I reject Christian 'morality' entirely).

Realistically, the fellow doesn't have much in common with either his boss or his coworker. This is the sort of question that appeals to your internet socialist, because they've never really gone out and spoken to other people. If they have, those people are discredited as "bourgeois" or whatever other handy adjective exists.

Please continue to tell me how I, a guy with four jobs, have never "really gone out and spoken to other people." Part of each of my jobs involves working with and speaking with other people, given that three of them are in retail and the other is as a substitute teacher. I'm really getting rather tired of these generalizations from people who have probably never really interacted with socialists themselves, and who just repeat these tired stereotypes about pampered radicals who never set foot off a college campus.

0. it's always funny to see the "i don't care if you're offended" brigade get super cheesed off if someone makes fun of them

1. "marxist feminism" isn't feminism. the idea that gender inequalities are due purely to capitalism (its central tenet) is almost as ridiculous and insulting as the idea that they stem from biological differences.

2. you are referring to my disagreement with your support of partial-birth abortion, i.e. literally infanticide.

3. unassisted viability as determined by a professional isn't at all an arbitrary line

4. obviously i also support the full subsidization of alternatives to abortion both before and after that point
