It is a shame Andropov died so early, his anti corruption reforms could have done a lot of good to shake off some of the Brezhnev era rot.

Let's see then... well, Lenin was a humourless zealot totally lacking in administrative skills so he's out, Stalin was Stalin, the pathetic Malenkov does not even belong on the list as he never really held power, Khrushchev was an idiot and a crank, Brezhnev was a deplorable old hack, as was Andropov, while Chernenko was literally a battery operated corpse. Stalin was certainly the most interesting of all of them, but, again, he was also Stalin.
