The Blues are healthy going into the playoffs this year, Tarshenko is going to tear it up.

They are running into a juggernaut in Minnesota.  That team has been absolutely awesome for three months.

I watched the final period of the Panthers vs. Bruins game yesterday (for obvious reasons), and yeah, there was no one in the stands in South Florida, except for a bunch of New England snowbirds decked out in black and gold.

It's irritating to me as a hockey fan to see the nonsense in Florida while Quebec City fans of all people twittle their thumbs without a team and a hockey-ready arena sitting there.  And all the time the only city the NHL is getting serious about expanding to is ******* LAS VEGAS!  VEGAS!

Us Wisconsin folk would love a team in Milwaukee. Maybe the new Bucks area could draw some interest?

HockeyDude, I just want to say that your sig helped us get a question at pub quiz back on Sunday that we wouldn't have otherwise.  And we won, so it was a free round.  Thanks!

I was going to go to Nashville on Friday night, but the stupid Predators front office has banned ticketmaster sales with credit cards from outside their TV market. And I don't know anyone with a credit card based in TN, KY, AL, MS, or GA.

I think Ottawa has done a similar thing to keep the Habs fans out, and it's a horrible practice. If your franchise doesn't have fans, that's your problem.

Find a hockey forum with individual sellers.  hfboards.com is a good place to start.  Or just hit the secondary market on Stubhub or NHL Ticket Exchange.

Third party websites are a risk due to the "credit card entry" system. Not making a 10 hour drive to be rejected at the door.

The problem with Ottawa is, we're so close to Toronto and Montreal, that whenever we play them, Leafs fans and Habs fans gobble up tickets preventing hard working Sens fans from being able to get tickets. We have no shortage of fans willing to watch some playoff hockey.

However, it will have only a minimal effect, because this city is already full of Montreal fans (especially on the Quebec side). Before Ottawa got a team, the city was divided between Montreal and Toronto fans, and many of those fans have remained loyal, even after 25 years.

I've ordered tickets to dozens of games off of Stubhub and have never experienced a problem.

A THRILLING first night of the NHL playoffs.  THRILLING.

-Keith wins it for Chicago in double OT after the Hawks come back from down 3-0

-Calgary takes down Vancouver in the final minute of the 3rd

-Montreal/Ottawa shows it will have enough bad blood for an entire playoffs much less one series.  A superstar is ejected.  You have three goals, one shorthanded, on the ensuing major penalty.  Ottawa's top rookie might now be out for the series.  Dayum.

-Washington and Long Island unfortunately hit us with a snoozer down in D.C..  Could the home crowd have been any less into the game?  Jesus.  The Fishsticks won, anyway.

On the docket for tonight.

-New York and Pittsburgh open their series at MSG

-The Yzerman Cup kicks off in Tampa

-St. Louis and Minnesota meet in what is probably the most closely matched series in the playoffs right now

-The city of Winnipeg makes their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 19 years as they start their series with Anaheim

Only thing better than a Rangers win about the NHL playoffs?  Seeing more of Kathryn Tappen.

I'd like to play a little one-on-one icesticks with her.

Can we talk about PK Subban not getting disciplined for that slash on Stone though? Broke the dude's wrist. There has to be at least one game for that. I know he got a misconduct to begin with, but you can't just break a dude's wrist like that.

Oh, come on now. Subban was not intending to harm Stone. He's not that kind of player. We're not talking Matt Cooke here... I maintain that he was trying to either break Stone's stick or move it out of position. Stupid choice by Subban and I get the 5 minute penalty, but a game misconduct/the suspension proposed by some fans is excessive. Anyway, Stone kind of overreacted by jumping as if a sniper hit him. Hell, he returned at the end of the game and participated in a scrum. He came back and probably deepened the injury. It clearly wasn't that serious. If you ask me, the slash in the Rangers game was just as bad, but didn't go punished.

Also, here's my prediction:

EAST
Montreal vs Ottawa
Tampa vs Detroit
New York Rangers vs Pittsburgh
New York Islanders vs Washington

WEST
St Louis vs Minnesota
Chicago vs Nashville
Anaheim vs Winnipeg
Calgary vs Vancouver

It's not a headshot or a clear intent to injure.  A bit vicious, but players go for the stick slash all the time and try to get away with it.  A major and a game misconduct is enough for this type of thing.
