I was pretty horrified when I read this article: http://www.buzzfeed.com/adamserwer/how-mens-rights-leader-paul-elam-turned-being-a-deadbeat-dad#.ho08eAYeO. The whole purpose of the MRA movement was to show that men have rights too and that feminism has often created an ideology for women with BPD and HPD to cloak their disorders in. But that doesn't mean that MRAs should stoop to this same level of abuse, which by all accounts, he has done himself.

Elam's behavior is perfectly representative of the MRA movement though.

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

I won't touch the main topic of this thread because it's gross and terrible but

feminism has often created an ideology for women with BPD and HPD to cloak their disorders in.

If demonstrating this was (part of) the purpose of the MRA 'movement' then it's touched on a legitimate concern but from entirely the wrong direction, so wrong that it and the legitimate concern basically just have the keywords 'feminism', 'BPD and HPD', and 'cloak' in common and nothing else. The legitimate concern is that there's an increasing amount of debate in the psychiatric community about the heavily gendered nature of the way BPD and HPD tend to end up being diagnosed--the 'bitches are crazy' model of mental health care, if you will. Has anyone else read The Yellow Wallpaper?

I doubt anything short of a group of MRAs running a pedophile snuff ring, could lower my opinion more of MRAs. This doesn't even give a bip on my radar.

There's a reason organisations which deal with serious male's issues have left the term behind to be used by a bunch of misogynistic man-children.
