Jarring time jump to mid 1970. Looks like the series might end in 1971 ish.

The craziest thing about this episode, more so than the mustaches, is Don wearing shirts to work that aren't plain white. He's literally never done that. Even his casual outfits, he almost always still wore a white shirt under his blazer. Even Don Draper can't resist the tide of 60s fashion forever...

I misread this as Mad Men in Black. Interesting crossover, wouldn't it be?

Look at that hideous frilled shirt. How they ever thought that a good thing to wear I shall never know.

Otherwise Don seems to be in a downwards rut at the moment. Who was that lady at the diner supposed to be, though? And how Don just went with the flow... not good. And the women his assistant (?) so dryly recited had "made themselves available that night", by now it's just the same old same old. Yikes.

I think a relatively modest and subdued fringe like that is kinda cool and interesting. Obviously things would only get much, much worse from there though (TW: 70s fashion):

Whoever wrote the scene that involved giving Ray Wise a set of new golfclubs has a sick, sick mind. I approve, naturally.

As much as anything else it's a clever bit of period detailing; even men who (very wisely) decided that late 60s/1970s fashion was awful - and so continued to dress like it was still 1966 for the rest of their lives - generally had no issue with wearing coloured or patterned shirts.

I really like how they subtly wove in 1960s Quebecois politics in the last episode. What an amazingly deeply researched show.

Also I love how disgusting they've made Pete look.

I like how Don's prediction/curse from 1960 is coming true!

I've heard they are shooting a new episode in my old college town of Alva, Oklahoma.  I'm not quite sure why, but I think it's an interesting and a good choice.

There would be no good reason to hate it; so surely the latter.

Don't believe I've seen anything of this season. These gifs look amazing. Since I don't actually watch TV, I'll have to wait for it to pop into Netflix. This is the last season, as I've heard.
