For a sec I thought the article said Ralph Reed, who is truly villainous scum.

But this Rick Reed character is of similar or even greater league.

This is why Rand should quit the capitulation and call for a cut in aide to Israel as that is his real position!

In a race with this many candidates and soon-to-be candidates, he's going to be a big factor no matter what they throw at him. His people are intensely loyal. I suspect he'll probably win in Iowa which will turn New Hampshire into a hell of a bloodbath.

Bring it on. Rand Paul will have to deal with far more opposition within the GOP itself than any other candidate. The more he stands up against mainstream opposition, the more he is considered a freedom fighter in my book.  Unfortunately he has already started to appease to the needs of evangelicals and neocons.

I like him more than any other candidate in the GOP primary. The fact that he appeals to me, a hardcore liberal, is exactly why he won't win the nomination.

Yes, despite the fact that he's much more of a traditional mainstream GOPer than his father ever was.

Here is the actual ad. It focuses on the Iran deal and even uses a mushroom cloud.

https://youtu.be/sYSMN9X_5pY

they are running it on FOX and in IA, NH, SC, NV with $1m spend.

I supported Rand Paul until I learned the disappointing truth that he didn't want to start another no-win foreign war. Instead he wanted to try this "diplomacy" thing. Sounds like a communist to me.

He wants to increase military spending and signed the letter to try to stop peace with Iran. But I guess that's not quite warmonger enough for them.

There are enough people who are generally non-interventionist but support aid to Israel to make it a bad idea for Rand to go out of his way to make that announcement.  He should definitely hold firm on supporting negotiations in Iran and in questioning military spending.

In a hilarious case of sentience; Youtube is telling me to "think twice before sharing" that ad because it is unlisted.

Expect more of this and expect the hawks to win this time around.

While I don't love him, I would actively support Rand to be the nominee and would vote for him over Hillary. I think he's a good man personally and he's grown on me as a politician

However, him winning the nomination in 2016 would go against everything I've come to know about the current state of the GOP. The primary electorate is not looking for a reformer like Rand. Many of them are delusional, forgetting they lost in 2012 and seeing the 2014 low turnout stinker as a victory proving that someone like Ted Cruz can win. Look to our resident racist fascist Reaganfan to know that the Paul idealism despite its conservative principle is considered liberal talk by a good number of Republicans.

Rand might just beat Hillary... in 2020. But he's not going to be the nominee in 2016.

Tbh Rand made a big mistake in trying to move towards the Hawks. Because now he'll be attacked for his old comments (Israel aid being cut, etc) but people like me who supported those positions aren't going to want to support someone who is trying to appease the war hawks
