Nothing to gain from it.  On the other hand, if he had identified as a Native American on a Harvard college application as the senior Senator from Massachusetts had, it might not make the front page of the NYT

Nothing to gain from it, which makes David Frum's contention that Bush's doesnt see himself as a white American all the more likely. Bush, like Obama doesnt like the current make up of the US. But Bush is under the delusion that underneath every immigrant is a Fredreich Von Hayek struggling to get out.
I have considered the notion that David Frum might be right and rejected it.

I'm sure everyone who made cracks about Elizabeth Warren is going to be all over this.

Well unlike Warren he wasn't applying for anything...

Sure he was: he was applying to be a voter.

I guess conservatives were right all along. Eventually Hispanicness will rub off on you.

Unlike their last nominee, he's not actually Hispanic.

Welcome to the newest non-issue, perfectly tailored  to distract you from what actually matters!

Is there any evidence that Romney the Dad, actually, spoke Spanish?

Then, again, I am sure, my daughters will write "Hispanic" on all US forms, even if they wind up living most of their lives in Finland Smiley

Nobody besides right-wingers care about the GOP's fetish about Warren's ancestry. Besides, Warren had no reason to disbelieve the idea that she might have Native American ancestry.

Sure he was: he was applying to be a voter.

Would this have affected anything, though?
