Even the pollsters themselves don't think this will hold. Which isn't to say the dynasty isn't a bit itchy.

308 projection: tiny PC majority even with 31%.

Braid on the dynastic strategy: demonize your opponents as extreme for adopting your own past and present policies.

I hope DL's right, but we'll see if these # hold up.

Or as Kinsella put it, the legislative equivalent of trying to suck and blow simultaneously.

None of the local experts (Stephen Carter, Janet Brown) I've seen interviewed believe these numbers will hold, though.

This all seems too good to be true, but still awesome to watch.

Paula Simons on how the dynasty has disarmed themselves on social issues.

Braid: distinct minority possibility. IMO if Wildrose holds the balance of power - finish off the dynasty.

Will Prentice follow in Turner/Campbell/Martin's footsteps?

Tim: Wildrose will do that. The dynasty, like their dead federal cousin, will happily die rather than surrender the P.

Question is whether the Tories hold or completely collapse like LPC '11/PC '93.

Wildrose would. Ethics reform, anti-corruption exposes galore, then quick dissolution and flash polarize to vaporize what's left of the Tories.

My wildest Albertan dream is ending the dynasty, whether Wildrose or the NDP does it. I don't think any successor will work miracles - just do a better job than the incumbents.

Typically excellent Wells longread.

PC Edmonton star candidate insults his fellow Edmontonians' civic loyalty.

At the end of Chrétien's term a bunch of BQ and PC MPs joined him because they wanted to surf the supposedly impending Martinami here. Didn't quite work out as planned.

Prentice is mostly concentrating on Notley. Only threat, only viable pool to poach from, something else?

BURN. Her style's great even if I disagree with her on absence. Jean still fixated on taxes.

So the only question is if there's outside-MOE movement, who drops more on Monday: Prentice or Jean.

^ Key point. Other thing to consider: how many people paid attention, considering there was nothing terribly exciting besides mathsplaining.
