She'll have to pick somebody who is under 50, so no.

Theresa Heinz Kerry will be a burdon to Hilary Clinton. Their personalities conflict. Bill wont allow it.

It would have no effect on her winning or losing, so sure.

Under 50? She's pretty likely to pick someone under 60 but it wouldn't affect the race if she picked someone over.

Anyway, it would require a new Secretary of State with 6 months left in Obama's term and the GOP would probably refuse to confirm one for the hell of it.

If they did that it would almost certainly become a major campaign issue which that would split the Republican Party, so it would be a win-win.

Kerry would bring heft to a Clinton-Kerry ticket. It is unlikely, but not possible.

She's old and brings foreign policy gravitas to the table. The last thing she needs is another old person with foreign policy gravitas.

Stop picking on John Kerry. He was a much stronger candidate than a lot of people on Atlas want to pretend.

I'd rather have Kerry at the top of the ticket.

And to be honest, Clinton needs someone to soothe the progressive/left/populist wing of the democrat party, especially if Sanders runs.

But nah Kerry wouldn't cut it, politcal hacks would see it as two old northeast pols-both who are close to the Obama foreign policy

Probably not, people will compare their time at the state department and quickly realize Kerry was a much better SOS.

HRC is far more from Illinois/Arkansas than the Northeast.

She would go for someone born a generation later; not a year or two (or few) before.

Wasn't Kerry on that list of Clinton enemies?

I like John Kerry a lot, but he's past the time of running for VP. He's doing a great job with these negotiations and I think that once Obama leaves office Kerry will peace out to the Cape. A fine career indeed.

Kerry should stay as Secretary of State, he's done a pretty good job.

I hope Clinton picks Tim Kaine as her running mate. He's the ideal candidate: A younger age 54, he has experience as Senator and Governor and is from an important state (Virginia).

Also, fluent in Spanish and a devout Catholic. I've come to think Kaine is a stronger frontrunner in the D veepstakes than Walker or Bush are for the GOP presidential nomination. The downside is his seat is safer with Kaine running for re-election in 2018 but he may be a strong enough VP pick to take that risk.

1.John Kerry would only be 63 in 2016, he likely just seems older because he's been in politics for so long.

2.HRC choosing Kerry would be the same 'doubling down' like Bill Clinton did with choosing Al Gore in 1992.  It would emphasize experience and foreign policy expertise in a 'dangerous world.'

He seems older because of his birth certificate. He'll be 73.

Yeah but we need a Secretary of State until 2017. As fun as it would be to nominate Rice and bait the GOP into another Benghazi hearing, it won't happen.
