My mom called me to tell me that her cousin Catherine is getting ready to run for U.S. Senate in Nevada. Apparently I met her a few times but not since I was about 8 years old. An extended member of my family might be in the Senate. Cheesy

Needless to say, I will now have an FitzGeraldesque obsession with her candidacy over the next 1.5 years.

Fun. I'm apparently a super-distant cousin of John Kerry, so I've at least got that.

My uncle was a state representative in Vermont, though I'm fairly sure he's retired. I mean he's a socialist (probably closer to Sanders than Snowstalker anyways), but he's pretty awesome.

In the late 1800s one of my relatives served in the Missouri State Legislature.  I found this odd because before a few decades ago, and especially before 1950, both sides of my family were very poor.

A friend of mine used to work in the NV AG office under Masto.  So my friend's ex-boss's cousin is King?  We might as well be brothers!
