What is Grant's home state?

Which one is it? Most cases are cut and dry (e.g. where they were elected from)and  even other generals had clear home states (Eisenhower = Kansas) but this one's not so easy to clarify. Wiki says IL, The History Channel Presidents doc says OH. What say you, Atlas?

He lived in Galena, Illinois for most of his adult life.

Actually that isn't the case, but clearly Illinois was considered his home state for purposes of election.  The 1868 RNC considered Sen, Wade of Ohio for the Vice Presidency and no one from Illinois.  Given the provision against an elector casting both of eir votes for candidates from eir own state, Ohio can't be Grant's home state.
