Senator NC Yankee walks on stage with Justice TJ and former Senators MasterJedi, JCL, and Cassius in attendence, as well as visible portraits of Tmthforu94, Inks and A-Bob in the background

Ladies and Gentlemen of this great state of Indiana. I come before you to make an important annoucement. Protecting the unborn is alive and well. I stand before today and thank you for attending this rather long set of remarks in a region that has been the center of the pro-life movement in Atlasia going back five years courtesy of the hard work and dedication of Mideast Governors such as Tmthforu94, Inks and Zuwo.

In the beginning... (You can feel the collective rolling of eyes on the left right here, but no I am not going to quote Genesis here)

A recent Supreme Court ruling has declared that the Federal Government has no legal authority to regulate the legality of abortion and that such an issue is to be left up to the regions. I, as all regionalists, celebrate this rulings legal ramifications, I denounce its practical implications. A couple of years ago working with a guy known for his conservatism, Marokai Blue (Tongue), we helped to pass the compromise ban on late-term abortions. It ws my view that if the Gov't could control your healthcare, it could at the very least protect the innocent unborn. Now that the law has been overturned we find ourselves in a situation where each region is free to act on its own, BUT NONE has to my knowledged moved to outlaw or ban late-term abortions in the weeks and months since this ruling.

The Supreme Court's ruling is the law of the land. We cannot overturn that save by Cosntitutional amendment and it would be my preference for the regions to maintain this power. However, it is with this power comes great responsibility and therefore I, and all pro-life Atlasians, should band together to demand that they act. Recently, there was a campaign by a distinguished Atlasian from the Midwest for an At-Large Senate election. One of the things he called for was the replacement of anti-regional laws and binding mandates with resolutions. The Court says we cannot legislate, it does not say we cannot have an opinion and therefore one of the first things I will introduce upon my return to the Senate is an Resolution calling on the regions to ban this heinous practice of late-term abortion.

There are some who say that protecting the unborn is unviable for the right and that it is a mistake to discuss this issue. Late-term abortion is a 75%-25% issue in real life against and the national ban was put in place by socialist Marokai Blue here in Atlasia. I would trust that there remains the sense of moral obligation on this issue at the very least and hopefully we can see some very positive results in the regions in the weeks and months to come.

We are not weak! We are not powerless! STAND UP AND BE HEARD CONSERVATIVES!!! Come out and vote for NC Yankee, April 17th-19th. Thank You Indiana, and the Mideast. I hope to be able to earn your vote in the days to come. Smiley

Why do you still have Senator in your username and why do you continue to refer to yourself as 'Senator' even though you are no longer a Senator? Everyone things its kind of pathetic you know. People laugh about it.

Not saying that it has been granted you - quite the contrary - but you are using the title of "Senator" as a title of nobility.

This really isn't anything new or uncommon. I recall throughout a large chunk of 2012 (seems like from the time I joined until he became President), Duke had his handle as "Senator Duke".

Yeah, it's just one of those little pedantic annoyances I enjoy cultivating.

I was legislator Duke at one point with you, don't forget!

But it's true, I don't think I changed my handle for a while after I left the senate. I kept it till I took a new title. I never referred to myself as senator after I left office, but then again, I still find it odd when people call me Mr. President since I haven't been president for months.

I will never forget those sweaty, hand-clinching days and nights in the swampy trenches of the South. I was just reminiscing the other day as I was looking through my GIFs folder; so many good memories!

Also, I wasn't picking on you: I just so happened to recall you before anyone else when trying to provide an example. Tongue

Remember when Ben Kenobi told me I was irrelevant to Atlasia and how my vote didn't matter, even when I was the swing vote?

I get wet just thinking about those days. My second stint there just hasn't been as invigorating.

Since when is Oakvale's dive on the IRC defined as everyone? I think it is pathetic for a group of people to spend so much time behind the scenes whispering slanders and genuinely outrageous bull sh...t about people that aren't part of their little gang, in the hopes that it will be treated as truth and material affect stuff in the game. I have faced many demons in my time because I am human but I am far more sane then I was back in 2009 and people who know what I did back then and yet continue to encourage me and respect me even from those on the left is a testament to the hard work I have done to address my own problems.

I have not changed my display name in years. My devotion as Senator for so long has defined my time in Atlasia and others have done it before including Duke for much of 2012 and JCL currently. It also happens a lot in real life and the italics in my speeches have long been over the top and this case presumptiousness counts as such. I try to provide entertainment even whilst remaining a serious player and sometimes it works and sometimes it falls flat. At least when I do crazy things, there is no destruction involved. You guys set people against each other and divide with your smears. I feel that most with an impartial analysis, would find my style is far more beneficial to this game then high school style gossiping revelled in on the IRC.

No, I don't sign PM's as Senator anymore like I used to. I did use all my current and former titles when I signed my last PM to Pingvin, but that is different more a goodbye to a friend then a formal communication. To the extent that it has become attached to my indentity on the site, I will use it, as I did in that petition a few weeks ago. Admitedly, part of the reason I did was just to rile Al and others up because I know he has lusted for my removal since the beginning (and they call me over zealous. Tongue). I don't vote in the Senate, nor do I introduce legislation (though as a private citizen I could through the rule changes recently). I have posted some in the Senate as a private citizen, after being encouraged to do so by Windjammer and others.

Oh no, Mr. President. IRC says otherwise, it must be true. We must dispense with these silly notions of history and precedent, lest some people are actually held accountable for their baseless claims and accusations. Wink

President was the highest title obtained so referring to you as either President or your current title seems appropriate in my view. I also think Senator and Governor are appropriate for you because frankly, I think you should call yourself what you like. If others don't like it, well, as George Carlin said, "Change the stupid fing station". Sometimes it is a matter of context. On Aim the other day, I called you Governor Duke when discussing your earliest days in Atlasia.
