I've been asked numerous times when I'll finally kill somebody ("somebody" meaning a registered voter, as opposed to non-playable characters I've been killing off freely and with great deal of satisfaction).

Well, that's very tempting and I'd love to dispose of some of you (in a nonpartisan manner, naturally), but I'm not sure I have a power to proceed with this.

I certainly will not hesitate to impose some random misfortune toward individual players, since I believe this game needs an element of chance, but whether I can kill a player is at the very best a legal gray area. Usually, I don't give a crap about precedents, but not in this case.

Thoughts? (and maps, if you wish)

Yes, it is illegal for you to kill someone off in this game. Only deregistration or falling off the rolls are the approved methods.

Or getting banned.

But yeah, pretty much what I suspected.

Which is called the Deregistration of Banned Members Act, by the way. Tongue

Technically falling off the rolls is deregistration as well. So deregistration is a catch all for all forms of Atlasia death. Tongue

But as pseudo NPCs, could deregistered individuals be killed?

It's fairly clear that you cannot kill off a registered voter without the consent of said registered voter. But you could presumably arrange for a hit on a registered voter without their consent and allow them to decide what happens next. Additionally there seems unlikely to be a reason why you cannot kill off former registered voters: i.e. declaring that former President PBrunsel has been found hacked to death in a mens toilet in Davenport, IA.
