How many of you really read the long winded speeches made by candidates here in Atlasia during their campaigns for office?

I'll read it if it's three or four paragraphs, but some people need to learn to speak less Tongue

I honestly write then for my own enjoyment, that's why I put the policy stuff in bold at the moment- as long as people read that it's fine.

In all honesty, if the speech, or article, is too long, I will sometimes only briefly skim over it to get some idea of what the candidate is saying.

Sometimes I won't read any of it.

Pretty much what people said, yes. If it's short, okay. If it's medium length, skip through it. If it's too long, not really.

I'll skim it most of the time, but yes, I feel like people should use shorter paragraphs and summarize. Same problem as the long bills in the game.

That said I always try to read TNF's posts, particularly because he bolds important parts.

I read everything because I'm looking for gotcha moments. It's how I won my at-large Senate race!

Considering my past with massive speeches, all the recent ones have intentially been referred to as long in an attempt at poking fun. I did plan to have three short parahraphs in my pro-life speech, which I sarcastically referred to as "as long as my Senate tenure". But then I found I more to say and so it got a bit longer thus partially ruining the joke, but it is still short comparatively speaking and gets to the point rather quickly.

I do. And to be honest, I think they're more for ourselves than anything else to let us feel like we're actually simulating a political campaign - at least to an extent.
