http://www.businessinsider.com/hillary-clinton-will-announce-her-campaign-this-weekend-2015-4

A source with knowledge of Hillary Clinton's plans has confirmed she will officially announce her 2016 presidential bid on Saturday or Sunday. This will be imminently followed by campaign travel.

A spokesperson for Clinton's campaign team did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Clinton has long been expected to enter the 2016 race. Polls show her well ahead of all her likely Democratic and Republican rivals.

Mod edit…UPDATE: Looks like it'll be on Sunday: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/apr/10/exclusive-hillary-clinton-to-launch-presidential-campaign-sunday-en-route-to-iowa-source

She must be scared of Rubio, announcing the day before he does to overshadow his announcement. If she wasn't scared of him, she would have waited a few more days before leasing that office so that she could wait until late next week to announce. Her announcing just before Rubio sounds like fear of Rubio more than anything else.

Why would she announce on a weekend? Does she want to bury her own announcement?

If you can overshadow a potential competitor, why NOT do it? It's dummy Rubio's own fault for broadcasting his announcement date weeks in advance.

The media should troll Clinton by hardly paying attention to her announcement.

Why the hell would anyone be afraid of a light-weight like Rubio?

Nah, there's no way they'll be able to help themselves there. It will be a feeding frenzy. Even the right wing media will go ballistic with non stop Hillary coverage.

As for the people fretting about it being on a weekend, you guys realize that both Hillary and Obama announced their 2008 campaigns on a weekend, right?

Remember that Hillary originally wanted'o wait until summer. So it is no surprise she is taking low key road to announcement online.

As for Rubio, I seriously doubt she cares.

From recent reports it sounds like she wants her rollout to be as low key as possible. She's the last person in the country to need media attention. She wants to focus this campaign on voters' concerns and real issues rather than her celebrity profile as soon as possible.

I hope she bores the hundreds of reporters following her in IA and NH to death like she did on her 2000 listening tour when she talked in small groups with upstate voters about dairy price supports and air fares. They deserve it.

I was thinking why roll it out on a weekend unless you dont want people to notice. At some point she is going to have to be noticed, take positions and distance herself from Obama

She's hoping that can wait until after the election.

So neither Obama nor Hillary wanted people to notice them in 2007?

There's absolutely no evidence of this. Her approval ratings were remarkably constant throughout the 2007/8 campaign - fluctuating between 45-50% - despite being everywhere in the media every single day. Clearly she was more popular when she was SoS and not subject to a barrage of partisan attacks and smears; but all that happens when she runs for office is she inevitably loses any fleeting popularity with Republicans and Republican-leaning independents.

Look, she's not announcing when she is because she is or isn't afraid of anyone: they're all doing this (Paul, Clinton, Rubio, Chafee and probably at least a couple more in the next week or so) because it's the beginning of a FEC quarter and they want to be able to produce the strongest fundraising numbers possible for the June 30th report by having as much of the quarter to fundraise as possible.

jfern hasn't let go of something that happened 13 years ago that she has said she regrets. But when someone is a corporatist warmonger she-beast... what else to do you expect but evil weasel-words.... (is that right?). I think someone really should write a PhD on the evolution of Hillary Clinton from evil liberal/lesbian/ball-buster to evil warmonger/secret right-winger. *shhh despite she's arguably to the left of Obama on a number of things, including healthcare... shhh*
