I think it's about time we do away with the awful Althing name.

I concur. And, I for one, would be fine with completely eliminating the 'silly' portions of the Constitution. If the Southeast can do it, so can we.

I lieu of 'Althing', I propose we rename it the Regional Assembly.

I am going to come up with a concrete proposal soon. I personally would like to see a clarification concerning executive powers, if anyone would be willing to sponsor such an amendment.

I like it, but would someone be willing to sponsor this for me?

I think that 'Legislative Assembly' is a good replacement name for Althing. I'd like to replace the title 'Archduke' as well with something less...medieval. Any ideas?

The fact that the Governor is proposing an amendment with executive orders confirms that currently the Governor has not the power to issue executive orders.

However, I'd like to say a thing as citizen of this region. Executive orders exists in the United States, but I have the fear that Governor TNF could abuse of this power. Yesterday, the Governor issued 10 executive orders and most of these executive orders have as arguments things that in my opinion should be debated by the legislative body prior to be laws.

No it doesn't. It simply clears up the legal issues surrounding the issuance of said orders. I'd rather it be explicit than (as I have argued) implicit, as is now the case.

None of the orders that I issued cannot be taken up as legislative items or repealed by legislative action. Your concerns are entirely unfounded.

I'm fine with that, as it would only really impact a few of the orders I issued, assuming they're unconstitutional under the current constitution (and I'm not convinced that they are, FYI)

I like most of this. But the street signs thing confuses me - are you giving citizens the power to make street signs?

Just to have them in the language of their choice. Basically to allow localities to print signs in whatever language is appropriate for their area.

Would you mind processing these amendments, Maxwell?

After that amendment is processed, I think we're good to go, unless anyone else has anything they'd like to add.

I find this Deeply Disturbing, for many reasons, most especially the establishment of official languages in the Most Serene Republic.

I'm certainly willing to address concerns you might have insofar as they do not conflict with the overall goal of constitutional reform.

Why are you concerned about official languages?

There's another amendment I'd like to propose, but I'm going to wait until Maxwell has time to throw what we have so far together.

I'd like to change the federal constitutional amendment procedure so that it first hits the Legislative Assembly, and if we approve it with a 2/3rds vote, it automatically becomes law with the Governor's approval. If not, then we can approve it via a voting booth, but I don't think we should waste our time trying to get people out to vote to a desolate voting booth board if we don't have to.

Section III, part g still mentions the Archduke. That should be changed. I'd also prefer the "25,000" thing to go or be raised to a more reasonable number, perhaps 100,000. It'll be a waste of our government's time and money either way, but with a higher number it'd be slightly less unwieldy.

Sounds good to me.

And I assume this gets put to the voters in the same way that a constitutional amendment would?
