I will be tallying North Warwickshire, Sedgemoor and St. Edmundsbury (because of friends and relatives). Would members like me to do a historical summary of these councils and the nominations for them?

Ah the maternal side of my family is in Sedgemoor (Bridgewater to be specific). What's your connection?

A friend of mine is standing for the Liberal Democrats for the district council (plus my grandmother always holidayed in Burnham on Sea)

North Warwickshire: Con 22, Lab 13 (Con GAIN from Lab)
Sedgemoor: Con 35, Lab 10, UKIP 2, Lib Dem 1 (Con HOLD)
St. Edmundsbury: Con 36, UKIP 4, Lab 2, Ind 2, Green 1 (Con HOLD)
Stratford upon Avon: Con 31, Lib Dem 3, Lab 1, Ind 1 (Con win on new boundaries)

Usual comments apply, though there were a lot of split wards here and some very odd nomination strategies by some parties in places. So be careful.

Indeed, but what puzzles me is that great big Independent ward in Thanet. I'd love to see the result of that one!

I have just finished tallying the results from the local elections (no thanks to the mass media who seemed to ignore it for some reason) and here are the final results

Conservatives 6,729 councillors (+417) winning 164 councils (+10)
Labour 4,225 councillors (-251) winning 72 councils (-56)
Liberal Democrats 1,153 councillors (-439) winning 4 councils (-4)
Independents 641 councillors (-143) winning 0 councils (unchanged)
United Kingdom Independence Party 336 councillors (+168) winning 1 council (+1)
Green Party 133 councillors (+7) winning 0 councils (unchanged)
Ratepayers 93 councillors (+1) winning 1 council (unchanged)
Other Parties 13 councillors (-13) winning 0 councils (unchanged)
