Much as I'd love to say Miles or Mung Beans or Tim Turner...and as much as

that makes me blush.

Lief just seems like a joke, really.

I think my PM score is too mild to put me in the running.

Snowstalker or TNF.

Though Miles and populists et al may have a PM in the appropriate quadrant, the Trots envision a far more powerful state than any of the populists we have on this board.

The only thing more dangerous than the truth disguised as a joke is a lie disguised as a joke.  But the truth still shines through the lie.

Yeah I think Hilfy's a better answer for most 'statist' than anyone. Aren't most of the True Leftists anti-government?

Incorrect.

Communists actively oppose the state as an institution and would like to see it wither away. The issue comes with an immediate post-revolutionary situation, in which a state apparatus would need to be organized by a victorious working class to subdue all classes hostile to its rule. Unlike the present system, such a successful revolutionary venture in one of the key international centers of capitalism, would more or less undo itself and lead to the withering away of the state (defined as the coercive power of society) because you'd eventually have a situation where abundance and the abolition of class society are attained.

The state cannot be abolished by any system other than socialism, because the state is otherwise a tool for a minority class to oppress the vast majority. Under socialism, the workers' state becomes the tool of the vast majority, and after the enemy classes are subdued, there's no purpose for it to exist anymore because social ownership and radical democratic governance has eliminated class society altogether. 'Anarcho-capitalism' might last for a solid five minutes before one capitalist declares himself king and goes about re-establishing feudalism or regular capitalist society under a new state form because capitalism cannot work without the repression of the vast majority of society.

In other words you envision an incredibly powerful state prior to its eventual abolition possibly at some point down the road. Nothing there contradicts what TJ said.

A lot of the fiscally liberal/socially conservative users on here (based on their PM) have a lot more in common with me than our PM scores would suggest, at least when it comes to political support.....some of my favorite Democrats, like Joe Manchin and Jim Webb, are also some of theirs.

I consider the far-leftists here the most statist.....people like Snowstalker come to mind.
