It's finally official, Hillary is running. She seems to be the best hope for getting another President who will be a tough fighter for common-sense solutions on how to make our country and every person in it stronger.

Perhaps that's the strategy. Rally liberals around her by making social conservatives rage loudly.

Our side will not utter a peep about the attack on marriage in her ad. Not one word. The Republican Party establishment is openly in favor of genderless marriage.

You wouldn't have a Republican Party without traditionalist conservatives.

What is "conservative" and "traditional" changes throughout history and cultures. Gay marriage is now increasingly accepted, and soon will be seen as normal.

The Republicans can still keep SoCons in their tent based on abortion, guns, affirmative action, and a wide range of other social and cultural issues, but opposing marriage equality is a lost cause that will only drag the GOP down if they keep fighting it. They can afford to drop opposition to it (slowly, though), but not on the other issues, which is why people who think the solution for Republicans to become "socially liberal but fiscally conservative" are fools. Gay marriage is the only issue they're badly losing on, everything else is a 50-50 debate.

I just don't agree. We'll leave it at that.

But most of what you said is difficult to take issue with. My problem is, they could do a better job at least pretending to care about how opponents of SSM are portrayed in the media and by Democrats, to show that they understand opposition is not based on hatred.  It is also worthwhile to support religious freedom - but alas, that seems to be over now too?

The opposition is a cheery mix of ignorance, hatred, and bigotry. You lost; religious dogma has no place dictating the laws of society.

It's really no use, King. He's probably the type of guy that goes to the Castro district to yell at all the "fags" (and then maybe to the bathhouse...)

As much as I disdain Hilary and hate how Bill Clinton handled the Elian Gonzaléz affair, blaming that on her is very unfair.

From the response from the other GOP candidates so far, republicans are trying to make this into a foreign policy election which is really misreading the moods of most voters.

Along with that, Republicans trying to use the inequality debate and then saying that it can be fixed by tax cuts and more deregulation, whether it or work or not. Is getting really weaksauce.

If not then their last bet would be just to campaign against 'the clinton dynasty' which would be all they got at the moment.

Rove will be on Hillary's side when Rand wins (not openly though).
