GET HYPE

Random guess: Syrio killed Meryn Trant in Season 1, took his face, and reveals himself to Arya. Benjen is a horse (credit to reddit).

The "previously on" segment that'll play before the credits at the beginning of the finale has leaked onto Youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1btOBSM9mrk

It hints at the possible return of a character we haven't seen this season, so people who really want to go into the episode cold might want to skip this when they watch it.

Didn't watch, but please don't let them waste precious finale screen-time on Hordor & co.

I'm halfway through the season, and I'd almost be tempted to say "so far, so good". Of course it won't last. Besides, through my Facebook feed I got the clear impression that Stannis was going to fail miserably, which means that Winterfell is probably still in the hands of the degenerate traitors.

At least I still hold out hope that Jon succeeds in convincing the Free Folk. And that Margaery will find some way to get back at Cersei.

If we're going to have a missing character come back, I'm pulling for Hot Pie.

Nah, this has been a great season aside from Dorne.

The fact you think so doesn't give me much comfort. Wink

Sorry to kill that hype train, but there's no way she shows up. Not to worry though, we still have Benjen and Cleganebowl

Other than a couple of scenes, yes.

Out of curiosity which ones are you thinking of? (I've been spoiled up to AFFC/ADWD and all the TWOW sample chapters)

Arya hasn't caught up yet since she's just going blind now. The Ironborn stuff also hasn't happened. They couldn't cut that, could they? It seems so important! Oh, and Kevan is still alive.

This was a perfect episode and season five was significantly better than FeastDance.

So I guess that whole "War of the Five Kings"…Balon is now the only one of the five who's still alive.

The dramatic fall of Stannis over the last two episodes was probably the most gripping part of the Season I think. The One True King has fallen, all is lost.

I wonder if how this complicates Littlefinger's plan. With House Bolton having so utterly crushed Stannis so swiftly they won't be weakened enough for the Nights of the Veil to attack. Then again he also has a plan with Roose Bolton to make an alliance with them and turn on the Lannister's IIRC. So maybe he's go that route.

I liked the finale in many ways (save for Myrcella, I thought that was an awful idea), but I can't help but to wonder the season number might actually be eight instead of seven. After all, they did not resolve several of the cliffhangers of ADWD, and the casting for Season 6 seems to suggest that some forgotten FeastDance characters might indeed appear on the show.

I assume they're cutting that if they cut Sansa in the Vale and Stoneheart. Maybe everyone will end up in the Riverlands for it next season?

Sam's storyline is also further in the books.

I'm fairly confident the Greyjoys will be back next season, and I think it was the right storytelling choice (however it's hard to praise them for the choice considering how piss-poor Dorne was.

Actually thinking about it, I can see a war with Dorne substitute Aegon's invasion. Assuming Daenerys comes to Westeros next season, we can still get Doran's "Fire and Blood" plan.

I've only seen two episodes of this show, since I'm poor.  Sad
