You're getting your strawmen a little confused. SSM is the law in 37 states and more than half the country - this IS the reality for most Americans. Marriage in a secular (sorry 'bout it) country is a legal and civil construct. For people who are afraid of it, that's your call, but you're only smaller and sadder people for it. If an individual chooses to do something, he can hardly be said to be speaking for the whole group... as as is true for anyone. The point is, people have the right to say what they want or get married to who they want. It doesn't make them part of a privileged class or any other nonsense like that. There's no flaunting. They're just doing what they believe is best for them. Why judge it? We don't complain about the straight innuendos in beer commercials. Talking about bottoming in vague terms is no different (and much less in the spotlight).
