People don't care anymore. It's been eight years. Distancing himself from the Tea Party fringes and libertarianism will be far more critical.

Oh believe me they do. Bush is the reason the Republican Party became unpopular BECAUSE of his poor choices in these sorts of areas. Young people are predominately libertarian leaning, and Rubio NEEDS ago appeal to them, but his views on domestic surveillance aren't helping that.

He doesn't have to, Dubya is from another time, Rubio can't be connected with anything that Dubya did or didn't,  but that won't stop the Democrats from giving it a shot! He should "Man up" & say Dubya was pretty good as President' s go. Better than Obama any day of the week, really rub the Democrats nose in it. Don't tip toe around it Marco,  as you well know, if the Democrats even suspect you are running away from that tar baby they will try all the more to tar you with it😎

Rubio doesnt specifically have to distance himself from GW Bush. The entire GOP party has to and Jebbie has to specifically. But Rubio doesnt specifically.

Question is how does Hillary distance herself from police state views

The Republican strategy is wait too see the self-destruction of Democrats. And that's exactly what they'll do, so nothing they say really matters.

It doesn't matter because no matter what he does he has no way of winning the nomination

how does hillary? considering that she voted for most of the things people hate bush for (afghanistan, iraq, the patriot act, tarp, etc). to her credit, she did vote against both sets of tax cuts.

Because Obama has the same position on each issue.
