On the contrary, Chipotle guy. Rush Limbaugh and Bloomberg News disagree. Pocketing that 45 cents is serious business.

Kind of reminds me of when someone at Sonic flipped a sh*t on me for not leaving a tip.  I mean really?  I mean I support a Guaranteed Wage and higher minimum wages and all, but not tipping at a fast food place is not exactly the crime of the century.

This is a non-story.

Now if she did not leave a tip at an Applebees and then flipped out at the waitstaff for something the cook screwed up, then yeah maybe it would be something getting upset over.

This is a stupid scandal.

There should not have even been a tip jar at that Chipotle.  Chipotle only runs corporate restaurants and I don't believe they would be happy to hear that employees are soliciting tips at the register from their customers.  It's a pretty classless guilt trip.

This manager should be fired for allowing the tip jar in the first place.  He should be banned from working in the hospitality industry for life for speaking to the press about a customer's lack of tip. I don't blame Hillary at all.

I bet she sent an email to Ben Ghazi and Soros laughing over how she didn't tip the peasants.

Tipping for counter service food is nowhere near majority behavior.  This is truly a non-issue.

When I worked at Pinkberry we had a tip jar and sometimes customers put their leftover 12¢ or so if they paid with cash, but the vast majority of people pay in credit/debit card. We wouldn't even get to collect the tips, our manager would pocket them.

I dont think it is a big deal. Tipping has gotten out of hand in the US. But it does show Hillary has a bad eye for political optics.

But that said, if a GOP candidate did it, it would be a true scandal.

lol, a TIP JAR!

There's a local roastery where I get a cup of morning coffee to go a few times a week, they have a tip jar on the counter, and maybe a few times I have directed loose change from my purchase into it. It's usually about a 1/4 of the way full of nickels, pennies, and dimes. Once in a while I'll see a dollar bill stuffed down in there. I wonder if the workers actually divvy that up? I somehow doubt it.

Anyway, this is silly, of course.

No, if they aren't bringing me food to my table, refilling my drink, etc, I'm not tipping.

Yes.  Tip jars beg the question "Why is it my responsibility to make sure YOUR WORKERS make enough money?"

Anti-tip advocates (see the beginning of Resorvoir Dogs) generally follow that line of logic even at sit down restaurants where the law allows said businesses to pay their employees less than minimum wage.  Now sure, I do tip very well at these places (I am even nice enough to leave more than a few coins in the tip jars on occasion), but it says a lot about our society that customers are expected to provide the bulwark of an employees living rather than the person who should have the moral obligation to do so: The Employer.

Every new attack against Clinton just diminishes her pathetic opponents more. And makes mainstream Democrats, like myself, even more enthusiastic about supporting her against the rabid right-wing and true leftists hacks going after her.

Don't call yourself a person for the working class if you don't tip.

You tip for the person who delivers your pizza. You tip for a waiter/waitress. You tip for the bartender. You tip for the barber. You don't tip at Chipotle. You don't tip at Burger King. You don't tip at the supermarket. This isn't complicated.

Fox News really gave this one the old college try.

Things they suggested re this story:

Hillary Clinton is a drunk.
Hillary Clinton is elitist for getting a bowl instead of a burrito.
Hillary Clinton is racist because Chipotle is not real Mexican food.
Hillary Clinton is ugly.
Hillary Clinton is not relatable.
Hillary Clinton is a bad politician because she didn't make a huge scene.

I'm really surprised they didn't tie in Benghazi.

I think her tip was not charging them $30,000 for her time.
