He would bring almost absolutely nothing of value to the ticket, with the notable exception of producing campaign signs that say Clinton/Whitehouse.

It would bring great rejoice for detractors of Lincoln Chafee. Not much else.

I've seen some of his speeches and he is actually quite feisty.

He would be a good attack dog for Clinton.  Very tough debater. Good choice.

He should run for president one day. President Whitehouse is basically the best thing ever.

Do any of you have enough familiarity to judge him one way or the other?

That seems very pulled out of nowhere.

Good idea, because his name would be helpful in making cool slogans.

Interesting choice.  I'm not sure what he would bring to the ticket other than attack dog, but he would be a decent pick for Hillary.  I voted so-so.

I've seen some of his speeches, as I mentioned, and I've read that he is very respected among his colleagues when it comes to judicial matters.

He is a very good leader on an important issue, but he does seem like a person who prefers to rise through the ranks of the legislature. I mean there's nothing stopping him being veep (the veep, at the end of the day, rarely actually matters to people) but he never has really given an inkling of being interested.

I wasn't referring to climate change so much as your reasoning it made Whitehouse worthy of the vice presidency.

I actually think he would be a really good Vice President, or even President.

I think he would make a good VP but he wouldn't really bring much to the ticket like a Hispanic, African American, or someone from the Midwest would.

Lets not forget who he defeated to get elected to the senate in the first place, the 'inevitable' Lincoln Chafee. President Whitehouse is inevitable.

Not too bad actually. An experienced senator has been the norm for Democratic VP for a while- Bentsen, Gore, Lieberman, Biden. Edwards was the exception, and wasn't really any help. A lot of the senators people suggest around here either have less experience or risk losing a seat. Also, boring is fine.

Reed, the other RI senator, would be much better than Whitehouse. Whitehouse is an outspoken environmentalist from Rhode Island. He literally brings no new groups into a potential Hillary coalition. There's much better white male choices for her to make, and I hate to go along with the identity politics game that you all have been playing with this response.
