What is wrong or misleading about this statistic:

Major party candidates from ethnic minorities in the 2005 Election (I suppose only Asians and Blacks count, but anyways, that's not what I meant):
LD 41 (up from 29)
Con 39 (up from 16)
Labour 29 (up from 21)
Yes, there is something wrong with this stat. The figures are correct, though.

That's part one of the answer, and explains why, currently, there are 11 (or 12, I forget) Labour minority MPs, 1 LD one, and 0 Con ones (although that may change, in Windsor).
There was another bit of info I was waiting for, though.

No, actually, the bit I was looking for is that many of them are. And as these are as a rule Labour-held seats...Labour has an additional problem in increasing its no of minority candidates that the others don't have, ie they'd have to push White incumbents, some of whom were first chosen when the area's minority population was much lower, into retirement.
