The most known images of Second World War era were Adolf Hitler and the swastika flags.

But the Second World War had almost the same participants of the First World War: Germany against United Kindgdom, France, Russia and United States. Only Italy and Japan changed the sides (and Italy was almost a Germany's ally in the First World War). Germany had a clear totalitarian regime during the Second World War, but had a pseudo-democracy during the First World War. Even many Social Democrats supported the First World War.

Some of the issues of the Second World War were related to the Versailles Treaty: territorial losses to Poland.

Do you think that the Second World War could have happened even if the Republic of Weimar didn't fall? Do you think that the Second World War could have happened if the Republic of Weimar were replaced in 1933 not by a National Socialist regime but by a conventional conservative aristocratic regime like the ones in Austria and Spain?

That depends on what Italy and Japan do without Hitler.
