In some magical turn of events, the Democratic and Republican Parties each splinter into a total of ten mini-parties, each of which have their own spot on the political spectrum. Under this ten-party system, the 2016 election is as follows:
The presidential candidates for each of the above parties are:
Democratic Socialist Party (54 EVS): Bernie Sanders
Green Party (95 EVS): Elizabeth Warren
Democratic Party (42 EVS): Hillary Clinton
Center-Left Party: (60 EVS): Martin O'Malley
Moderate Party (52 EVS): Jim Webb
Centrist Party (81 EVS): Jeb Bush
Center-Right Party (64 EVS): Marco Rubio
Republican Party (28 EVS): Scott Walker
Christian Theocratic Party (37 EVS): Ben Carson
Laissez-Faire Anarchist Party (25 EVS): Rand Paul

With no candidate achieving the required amount of electoral votes (270), the outcome of the election is to be decided by the 115th House of Representatives, which the Republicans still control by an extremely small margin (note that the House still operates under a two-party system). Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, realizing that they would never be elected by the House and that the best chance of getting a liberal president is Hillary, willingly concede the election and endorse Clinton for the presidency. Webb and O'Malley, also realizing that they are be unable to win over the House despite their moderate views, follow in the footsteps of Sanders & Warren and decide to drop out and endorse Hillary. Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, understanding the strategy behind the liberals' plan to come together and collectively endorse one candidate, decide to do the same and concede, endorsing Scott Walker for the presidency. However, the obstinacy of Ben Carson and Rand Paul prevent them from doing the same, and both Carson and Paul decide to continue in their pursuit for the presidency. Due to the unity of the left-wing vote and the division of the right-wing, Hillary is eventually able to successfully convince the House of Representatives to choose her as the next occupant of the Oval Office. In order to reward Sanders, Warren, O'Malley, and Webb for endorsing her in the race, she convinces the 115th Senate (currently under Democratic control) to elect O'Malley as Vice President, and gives each of the other three candidates high political positions in her Cabinet (Warren as Secretary of the Treasury, Sanders as Secretary of State, and Webb as Secretary of Defense).
THE END
Note: New party affiliations for the U.S. Senate will come out shortly.
