The point BRTD is making is that he may or may not have been a Christian, but he certainly didn't do it in the name of his religion.  He had other horrible motivations, but religion and specifically Christianity, was not it.

I don't think we have enough information to know what he did (or didn't) worship, but we do have enough to know he didn't do his terrorist act in the name of whatever that religion may have been.

That said, there certainly are people who we do know were Christians that did do horrible things in the name of their lord.
