What the fυck is wrong with these people?

http://www.kfvs12.com/story/28801129/parma-mo-voters-elect-first-african-american-female-mayor

Voters in Parma, Missouri voted in their first African-American female mayor.

Tyrus Byrd will be sworn in as mayor on Tuesday evening, April 14, at the Parma Community Building.

According to Mayor Randall Ramsey, five out of six police officers resigned this week, effectively immediately.

Mayor Ramsey said the city's attorney, the clerk and the waste water treatment plant supervisor also turned in resignation letters citing "safety concerns."

Mayor Elect, Tyrus Byrd, said she was unaware of the situation and plans to ask questions about the "safety concerns" during Tuesday night's ceremony.

This looks pretty bad, to be frank. I would be inclined to think that this is probably just a political disagreement, but the manner in which these resignations were conducted, intended to undermine confidence in the new mayor, is pretty repugnant. It's impossible to judge if race is a factor in this specific case, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it did.

As vehement non-racists, they were clearly concerned about the Mayor's potential reverse racist policies and wanted to take a stand against her racism.

Wow.

Was there any warning of something like this? Like some kind of public disagreement between her and the department/officers union? I mean Jesus.

A village of 700 people doesn't need 6 cops anyways.

I'm sure it will all be blamed on the Mayor. She should have never run for office in the first place, because it created a divisive environment.

It does if it is a speedtrap which pays its bills by "taxing" those driving thru the village even 1 mph over the posted limit.

Well at least they saved her some time. Now she should annihilate their pensions.

Like I said. Good riddance.

Hard to imagine a speed trap generating 200,000+ and benefits per year but perhaps I have no sense of large figures.

Regardless, should be a good riddance to all of them. Sadly, they'll be on the government books again before too long.

See, I support the right of an employee to quit at a moments notice, but public officials have a duty to the public. They should at least serve until replacements are found. This is absolutely vile.

If people would resign over such a thing, they never deserved to be in a position of power to begin with. Good riddance.

Apparently, they erased computers on the way out.

that's a fair trick.  same stuff AMLO had to deal with from the residual PRI infrastructure when elected Mayor of Mexico City.

I love Southeast Missouri. They're good folks. Perhaps it was a politically motivated situation.

Have you been there or you just watched "Winter's Bone" one time too many?

C(ycl)ops didnt want a black woman seeing what they were doing.  Something is going horribly wrong in Missouri.  The evil spirit of the Missouri Compromise is back.

Cops is not your friend.  And they seem to be getting worse.

That's sick and disgusting.  These clowns don't deserve to have voting rights.  The best thing about this story is that the city won't have to pay them anymore.

Well, it's not a bad thing. It's allowing the city to start from a clean slate.

I've never seen that film---  But yes I have been there. I have many friends who went to SEMO (Southeast Missouri State University) up in Cape Girardeau, slightly north of that area.  One close friend that still lives there.

Because I said SEMO had nice people? If that's trolling I'm not sure what isn't trolling. Cue the media and the race industry trashing heartlanders -- again.

My guess? This is likely a classic small town corruption thing coming home to roost. They resigned because of the new leadership at City Hall that will likely reform ethics in the town--  Has nothing to do with race.
