The debates have ended. A final vote is now open. Please, vote AYE, NAY or Abstain.

It's not necessary.

ABSTAIN

Changing vote to NAY - while I don't think this is especially important, I don't believe this is something that requires public enforcement.

Nay

Grossly unnecessary. It oversteps our bounds to mandate this action.

On what planet? The regulation of commerce is within the bounds of the Senate by any reading of the Constitution

I think some would rather not have basic information than ask the corporate to lift a finger.

I think food and nutrition labels are within the boundary of reason, though. I think.

Ingredient and nutrition information is about health and safety. The politics of the manufacturer are not pieces of "must know" information. Mandating that unnecessary information be plastered all over the packaging of a commercial good is an unnecessary intervention. Hence, it is an overstep. Pretty clear to me.

The result is a tie and the VP needs to break the tie.

The result of the final vote:
Aye (5): TNF, Lief, DemPGH, Windjammer, Blair
Nay (6): Polnut, Cranberry, Hagrid, Cris, Talleyrand, Averroes

This bill has failed to pass the senate.
