The one that has its own healthcare exchange, fought with the Union during the Civil War, and isn't the birthplace of Andrew Johnson.

Jackson was born in South Carolina.

Tennessee.  It had Elvis, which is a bonus - otherwise there isn't actually much difference between the two.  Although of course TN is a bit more "Southern" culturally and Kentucky is slightly better politically on state level and slightly worse federally.

I can't see how Tennessee could possibly be better than Kentucky.

Tennessee barbecue, Memphis, birthplace of Elvis, Estes Kefauver and both the Gores, Great Smoky Mountains for a few things just to begin.

It's funny no one mentioned Elvis until I did.  Memphis (and to a lesser extent Nashville) is home to countless singers and the music industry that revolves around that.  Nashville is home to the Grand Old Opry.  And people like Taylor Swift move there to pursue music-related careers.

The one that has the formerly great city of Nashville that will hopefully be a place of talented stars again in the near future. Both are horrible, but I've actually heard some great things about the nature of Tennessee. Good ol' Rocky Top, Rocky Top Tennessee.
The best I can give Kentucky is its fair share of singers - Loretta Lynn, Everly Bros, Whitley, and Yoakam. But the education is clearly not up to snuff there.

(Unless we gave up the Grand Ol' Opry in the Iran negotiations. I forgot where Obummer ranked that on his 1-40 list.)

Please tell me you're not including Al Gore, Sr. in that statement.

Kentucky has better weather, our maintains are just as good as the smoky mountains.  Kentucky provides a lot of America's energy.  And if the Civil War had never happened, Kentucky would have abolished slavery before Tennessee.  We have Muhammad Ali.  There's just so much to Kentucky, if you go to Louisville, Lexington, Eastern, Western parts of the state, it's like multiple states in one.

I can't see how Tennessee could possibly be better than Kentucky.

I've been there, I prefer Kentucky.  Northern KY is quite nice.

While he was a racist, he did support the Voting Rghts Act. I don't see how he's different than LBJ.

Gore, Sr. was one of the strongest voices against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, without which there would have been no Voting Rights Act to begin with. I'll agree that he wasn't as racist as, say, Strom Thurmond, but he hardly measures up to LBJ, who actively supported integration as opposed to passively yielding to it. Gore also supported using nuclear bombs to create a "radiation belt" along the North-South Korean border.

Gotta go with Tennessee because of Nashville.  I visited my friend who goes to law school at Vandy this fall, and it was one of the most fun weekends of my life.

Kentucky is the greatest state in the Union, so obviously Kentucky. I love Tennessee though too.

Tennessee, but Kentucky is alright. Politics aside, which doesn't really influence my opinion of a state, I wouldn't mind living in either.

Like Both, going for Tennessee because of the Grand Ol' Opry and Tennessee barbecue.
