This is inspired by the discovery that Hillary Clinton was mistaken in her belief that all of her grandparents were born outside the United States, when she only had one immigrant grandfather.

I'm curious how unusual it is to not know this kind of stuff about grandparents, which helps gauge whether this blind spot for the presumptive Democratic nominee is plausible.

Option 1 (Normal)

Almost everybody knows this kind of information, and I bet anything that Hillary knows all of this very well. Then again, I really don't care whether she bent the truth or not.

Actually, until recently, I had thought all of my grandparents has been born in the US, but I found out my paternal grandmother was actually born in Nova Scotia before immigrating as a child to Boston.

Yes, and I know what states they were born in too.  My family's genealogy is pretty well-researched, tho
there's a lot more I'd have to look up than could tell you off the top of my head.

All 4 were born in the U.S.

All but one of my great-grandparents were as well. The eighth one was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada (hence my avatar).

Great-great grandparents are somewhat problematic despite my best efforts.

Same here. In my case, all grandparents were born in NYC.

All in the U.S., though my paternal granny was from Italian immigrants that recently migrated to Philadelphia.

One of them is from somewhere in Illinois

And the other two are from Apache County, Arizona
