The one that birthed the American Revolution while gaiving us some of the greatest Americans and our nation's finest literature.  Massachusetts.

Massachusetts, though I appreciate Rhode Island for its early support for religious freedom.

Always had a weird love for Rhode Island. Though I'd live in either.

Massachusetts by far. Rhode Island is home to cronyism, ineffective government, a Mitt Romney clone and anti-public education "Democrats" as our governor and lt. governor, and a Roman Catholic bishop with considerable political clout.

Thankfully I work in Massachusetts.

Rhode Island is pretty pointless honestly. Just give the territory to Massachusetts.

My lovely home, the Bay State. Rhode Island is a mess. I live about 5 minutes from there, many people around here think its a failed state.

Had to go with Massachusetts but a hard choice considering Rhode Island is the birthplace of American religious freedom and HP Lovecraft.

How's the last one a good thing?

I always love how people celebrate an incredibly racist man. Some of his stories aren't bad, but he was a terrible person irl.

Because Lovecraft was (in my opinion) one of the most visionary and genuinely original writers America has had? Excepting the fact that he wrote and left behind a lot of material that people still bother to read, his racism wasn't particularly unusual for his time and place and by the end of his life Lovecraft moved distinctly to the left in politics as well as becoming more liberal in his views regarding race.
