''All senators need an office, and I'm proud to announce the opening of my brand new office. Come here for my views, opinions, rhetoric and other long winded ideas. This will be the heart of my operations, and I'm happy to welcome you to it.''

Here are the assorted comments from Senator Blair Today

Comments on Police Reform

'I'm gravely disappointed with the direction of the senate's police reform. I felt that I'd manage to suggest some tough yet reasonable reforms. I know that many Atlasians want to see substantial reforms that address the real concerns of our communities. This means that we need to give the Federal government, or another group full power over police camera footage to ensure that there isn't any removal or tampering of footage. I'm dedicated to protecting our police officers across the country, and I believe that these reforms will help to ease the tension that has spread across our land

Comments on recent Mediterranean crisis

''In the last week we've seen an unfolding crisis in Europe where thousands of refugees from Northern Africa have drowned trying to escape poverty, famine and conflict in North Africa. These refugees have given up everything to get to a better life, and it's absolute tragedy that so many of them have died trying to cross. I call upon the foreign leaders in Europe to increase the boat patrols out into the sea to help pick up any survivors, and I'll be calling on Secretary of State Superique for more action to be taken-in the form of financial or physical aid. We cannot stand back whilst thousands die.''

'The recent terrorist lead attempts to split up our nation have shocked me, and many others throughout the land. Only through her universal strength and courage can we better ourselves as a nation. I trust that my colleagues in the senate will support the action taken by President Bore and Secretary Barnes in tracking down these separatists. I also hope that the regional governors will be extra vigilant against any further attempts to destroy this fine nation. This is the time for national unity''

I'd also like to thank secretary Barnes for my nomination as Deputy secretary of the Interior. In these dangerous times it's important that we have a continued chain of command, and I look forward to my nomination confirmation hearings in the Senate. I just hope my good friends in the senate don't reject me. I'm looking forward to serving with President Bore, and Barnes and I hope that we can focus on the recent separatist threat that plagues are land

''I've been informed that I don't need a confirmation hearing to become a deputy, so in that case I'm proud to be able to swear in as deputy secretary of the interior. In hard times like this we need strong leadership to fight the separatist menace. I hope I'll be able to serve well.''

I was shocked today to hear that Mark Hooper, a citizen of Louisiana has been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia. Whilst the Saudi justice system have every right to charge and prosecute individuals it's simply barbaric for them to sentence a man to death over a drugs charge. President Bore has announced that he'll help lobby for the removal of this death sentence and I'd like to give him my full support. We cannot support the death penalty in any scenario, at home or abroad. I'll be personally visiting the Saudi Ambassador in a moment to speak to him about this issue, and hopefully reach an agreement

'Friends, we face a great challenge in our nation. This is a challenge of our conviction, a challenge of our resolve and a challenge of our endurance. Whilst many think that we should only look inwards I have always said that we must look outlook if we want to continue our quest for truly progressive politics.

This is why we need to have a unified reaction to the shocking coup Puerto Santos, which toppled a democratic government in scenes of anarchy. This regressive coup goes against everything we stand for here in Atlasia. We cannot accept this brutal destruction of fragile democracy and for this reason we must act. I'm going to propose, and lobby for the Association of Caribbean States to impose a state on emergency. I'm pleased the secretary Superique has called for a emergency session of the UN security council, and I hope that concrete action can be approved. But we must not lose our resolve to act

Just last week we saw that Saudi Arabia had imprisoned Mark Hooper, and sentenced him to death for a non-lethal crime. Despite frantic lobbying by myself, the Secretary of Internal affairs and President Bore we have been unable to get a break through with the Saudis. As I said before, this action is simply not acceptable. For too long in our nation we've been afraid to tackle injustices abroad. Saudi Arabia has a history of crushing dissident, executing LGBT citizens and financing international terrorism. Yet for too log we've been afraid to tackle these issues. I'm sure many will say that we shouldn't criticize the Saudis, but I'm sure these were the same voices who told us not to criticize the brutality of apartheid, or the corruption of the Shah of Iran. We should never be afraid to have an international voice.

' I send my regrets to the people of France, and the family of President Hollande after his shocking assassination in Paris. Atlasia and France have always had close links, which makes this tragic death even worse. President Hollande was a leading socialist voice in Europe, and he had been a champion for the working man across Europe. His 2012 election victory showed the need for stronger socialist principles in France. His death will leave a lifelong scar on Europe, and I'm sure we'll stand in solidarity with the french people during their time of mourning''

'Tonight, I'm proud to say that after months of meetings, debates, discussions and head banging the senate has finally passed a comprehensive police reform act. I'll be the first to say that both sides had to compromise on this bill, but I'm proud of what we've managed to achieve. This bill has give local communities the ability to oversee and regulate their own police forces. The senate is giving powers back to the people, and hopefully helping to heal the wounds of police abuse. Whether it was the stonewall night clubs in the 1960's, the black ghettos of Oakland or the streets of New York it's clear that our nation has a history of distrust. The only way we can this is my championing this bill which will help protect communities, but also protect the police force. We're giving more funding to police forces to help them protect themselves, and we're showing the people of Atlasia that reform is possible. I have to admit that, at times I've become frustrated with the slow speed of the Senate but believe me this bill shows all the cynics-me included, that the senate can be a force for real social change.

'Friends, I'm proud to announce that the 'MAKE HIV HISTORY ACT' has now been opened up to the senate, this is one of the major public health issues facing the country and I hope that my good friends in the Senate can help us make some real progressive change in HIV funding and ensure that the most deprived communities get the education and treatment necessary to stop the impacts of HIV. Let's take the fight back against HIV/AIDS and lets pass this bill'' Here's my comments earlier in the Senate along with some interesting facts

'It was with great regret that I heard about the shocking attack on President Bore's life yesterday, I've spoken to the White House and the Secret Service and it luckily appears that the President should be fine. I know his family will be by his side as he gets some much needed rest and recovers from this brutal affront to democracy. It's in times like this that we must rise above our partisan divisions and I'm sure Speaker Dkrol will send his regards. Attacks like this are an affront to our democracy, and I'm certain that this incident will not stop President Bore's determination to win a second term. Me and my Staff are all praying for a speedy recovery, and hope to join the President out on the trail

'Friends it's time for the greatest Atlasian tradition, it's time for the people of this country to go to the polls and cast the ballot that will determine what path we want for our country. The last 4 months have provided us with stability, growth, progress and a clear path towards to a more united Atlasia. Whilst we've fought a quiet campaign its clear that there is only one candidate who can unite us, there's only one candidate who has the experience to hold the highest office in the land and his name is President Bore. Friends we need an experienced pair of hands in the white house-let's not throw it all away.

'I'd like to congratulate President Bore on his re-election, and wish him another good 4 months in the White House. The task facing us never diminishes, and I'm certain that President Bore will approach it with his dedication, passion and pragmatism that has got him elected for a second term. We fought a good race around the country, holding onto Senate seats in the Mideast and Midwest-I'd like to welcome comrade Snowguy and CanandaLand to the Senate. I'm sure they'll make fine public servants. I'd like to congratulate all the newly elected members of the Northeast Assembly-they're all committed members and I'm sure they'll serve this great region well. Comrades, the fight goes on from here. Let's take strength from this historic victory, and translate this landslide into a truly progressive society'

'Friends in the Northeast we've seen something shocking before our eyes-a stolen election. Again the Northeast Assembly has been dragged through the mud as another election result has been marred by scandal. It appears that vice-presidential candidate JoMCaR has recruited, aided and practiced the art of Meat-puppetry. The three votes were introduced solely to vote in the Northeast and Presidential election-they were introduced to rig the Ballot.

It's worse friends, Twistory, one of the hideous puppets has been elected to the Northeast Assembly. Not a single post has been made since this victory, the Governor knows he's a meat puppet and everyone knows it's a scam. How dare a man who could of been a heartbeat away from the Presidency try and rig our elections like this. I call on all concerned citizens to firstly-demand the Resignation of Twistory, and open up a criminal charges against JoMCar.

Next, friends ask ourself-why didn't the Northeast reform this? At the last election we had a travesty where no-one knew the result, and again no-one knew this time around. Members were banned, then un-banned. Even worse the Chief Judical Officer was nowhere to be found, and had handed the powers over to the Governor. I have faith in Governor Sawx but we can't let the Executive Branch manage elections. Lets have a comprehensive review of this election result, let's take it the courts and let's uphold the foundations of democracy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our Demands
    1. Removal of Twistory from Public Office
    2. Criminal Charges brought against JoMCaR
    3. An independent audit of the Northeast Elections
    4. A statement from former candidate Dkrolga, reassuring us he had no idea what his own running mate was doing

Legislative Update

Lets Make HIV History- VOTED AYE
I was really pleased to pass this historic piece of legislation. The bill massively expanded drug coverage for HIV patients, and gave funding to new drugs that could reduce the risk from HIV by 86%. This bill helps protect the most vulnerable people in society, and expands the international fight against HIV and Aids.

Protecting Vulnerable Infrastructure- VOTED AYE
Senator Polnut was the leader of the bill, and I'd like to praise him for drafting such a fine piece of legislation. This bill helped ensure we improve our infrastructure to reduce the impact of climate change-from water shortages in California, to storms in Louisiana it's clear that we need to protect our vital roads, bridges, railways and airports.

National Parks Act - VOTED AYE
I offered an amendment to this bill to expand protection to a large portion of Alaska. This protection will ensure that the region gets full protection rights which limits oil drilling, protects biodiversity and empowers native groups. We need to protect our most pristine landscape.

International Biodiversity Act - VOTED AYE
I offered an amendment to this bill to expand the already impressive bill to include international deals where developing nations could swap small amounts of debt in exchange for legal protection of biodiversity- For example in Guatemala Despite some opposition in the Senate I was able to champion this cause, and ensure that we can play an active role on the world stage

Justice System Reform 2-YET TO VOTE
Whilst it may not sound glamorous, this bill has the potential to become a flagship of the Senate. Senator Polnut drafted the initial bill, and raised the issue of encouraging legal support for the most vulnerable in society. Through various amendments I've expanded the bill to introduce 'LegalAid'-a system where people earning less than $25,000 can get legal coverage. We need to ensure that everyone has access to legal representation, and I thank Senator Polnut for encouraging this
