Announcements clearly make a difference. We may not really know the real starting point until July or August when everyone should be announced and gone through their bump

Christie at 6? Trump at 5?  Junk poll!

But in seriousness, Walker and Jeb will probably be the last to announce and will jump back into the top 2.

What's worse: Being in 4th, or being tied for 4th with Huckster?

LOL, not only do they include Warren on the Dem side, they also include a "Dem primary without Hillary" question when this was conducted a week after her announcement!

FOX = Junk/joke pollster

More like September when debate season starts.

Will there be an Ames straw poll this year?

Looks legitimate to me. That's a good picture of what it is currently. We'll see if Carson/Trump fall off soon, but otherwise exactly what you'd expect. Obviously holds little predictive value.

Who will suck up the fodder vote when they inevitably drop out? I see Cruz commandeering his supporters to Paul.

Cruz is not a drop out type. The book sellers will drop out first. Then Kasich. Then Rubio (not buying this surge).

Calling this a junk poll is almost insulting to junk.

Also, what's with people having multiple avatars?

Debate season starts in August, not September.  The first debate is on Aug. 15th.  The Iowa straw poll (which will be in Boone this year, not Ames), is one week earlier, on Aug. 8th.

Exhibit number 1 for why we are going to end up with a brokered convention.

On the GOP side, who leads among....?

men: Paul
women: Huckabee/Rubio tie
college degree: Walker
no college degree: Huckabee
under age 35: Cruz
age 35-54: Paul
age 55+: Rubio
under $50k income: Huckabee
over $50k income: Rubio
Tea Party: Walker

On the Dem. side, more fun in looking at whites vs. blacks on Clinton, Biden, Sanders, and Warren:

whites

Clinton 55%
Warren 17%
Sanders 7%
Biden 6%

blacks

Clinton 67%
Biden 12%
Warren 8%
Sanders 0%

Warren also gets 21% among those with a college degree, but only 7% of those without.  And she gets 17% of those with incomes above $50k, vs. 7% of those below $50k.  Within the Democratic Party, Warren supporters are upper income whites with college degrees.

The GOP Primary map is going to be so great if nobody breaks out of the pack.

I think it's a distinct possibility. So many candidates, no frontrunner, and divergent core beliefs among primary voters? This whole primary contest has a non-negligible chance of going all the way to the convention. Plus, Rand Paul totally throws a wrench between the traditional establishment/social conservative rift. With three key players not willing to give up, each representing a unique segment of the electorate (let's say Paul, Bush, and Generic Bigot™)... things could get pretty complicated.

Even worse, including Cuomo and a "if Hillary doesn't run" question. FOX seems to be in their own little world.
