We still got a tie between FSU and Miami but 3 less votes than the Alabama poll still so hopefully someone manages to break that. Onward to the next state in the meantime where we will change it up and head north to Big Ten country with a lot of directional schools in the mix.

My picks:
[1] DePaul
[2] Northwestern - if I had to go to one, it'd be here, but c'mon. Even DePaul has made the NCAA tournament (believe it or not)
--
[3] SIU-Carbondale
[4] WIU
[5] Bradley
[6] The Illini
--
[7] Illinois St. - like the football because MVC but basketball not at all
[8] Loyola (Chicago)
--
[9] NIU
[10] EIU
[11] Chicago - hate the city but the strong econ department makes up for its lack of sports
[12] Illinois-Chicago
[13] Illinois Tech
[14] SIU-Edwardsville - THE FAKE SIU. I WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE
[15] Chicago State

All my friends have since graduated, but when they were in school, Carbondale was literally my favorite place in the world.

The list seems strangely short. Benedictine University has more students than Bradley, and Aurora University is almost as large. There are others missing from the private non-profits. Among public universities the list overlooks U of I Springfield, Governor's State University, Northeastern Illinois University, and WIU Quad Cities.

At least NIU was on the list. Smiley

It's mostly a football thing, muon Tongue
And Bradley is for basketball.
Typically I'd love to include all schools, but I'm trying to narrow it to those with fanbases that may get votes. NIU would be higher on my list if they would just stop beating up on my favorite directional schools in Michigan!

So how did U of Chicago get on the list? IIT (Illinois Tech) isn't really known for its sports, but it's there. I assume Loyola is for basketball, too.

The first two I added because I wanted to include top 125 us news ranked schools and top 15 liberal arts schools since some of them likely have a national brand as well. Didn't want to leave the MITs and Johns Hopkins' and UChicago's of the world off when the forum has as many academic-types as sports nuts.

And yes, Loyola and I believe Chicago State and Edwardsville are basketball only as well

My sister graduated from Eastern and the last time I ever flew an airplane I left from the local regional airport, so I went with that.

Depaul tried really hard to get me to come there. Wish I could have.

Close call between a few options.  Voted Northwestern.
