I feel that the recent issue with the tabulation of votes in the Assembly Elections make this bill necessary. It took nearly a week for us to figure out who actually won, because our electoral system is too vague.

Although the Assembly could pass an amendment righting this error, but - after speaking the CJO rproyer - I feel it would be more prudent to have a private, separate commission investigate the issue, look over all the possible options, and then recommend an answer to the Assembly and Governor.

This bill will also ensure that we do not have the same error in our June elections.

I agree with this bill - we can never have the confusion over the electoral system ever again. Hopefully, this will help fix the problems.

I support a commission. This kind of thing has happened more than once and it really should be made simpler.

After the recent debacle, there is a need for this kind of commission. (Although the current system has benefited me pretty heavily Tongue )

I would be interested in serving on this commission as the member appointed by the Governor.

Aye

(And I'd perfectly agree if Castro was appointed as third member).

With all five members having voting, this bill passes with 5 Ayes.

It will be sent to the Governor.
