If you had to pick a different accent to have, what would you choose, and why?

Please describe why and the effects this would have on your life in at least 100 words. Write these words in the accent you have chosen. This will be worth 50% of your final grade.

I wouldn't mind having an Ulster accent, but would safely say I wouldn't want to grow up in NI for obvious reasons.

I also have a lot of affections for the Colombian accent, I definitely wouldn't mind having that.

Pretty much any genuine English/Murican accent is better than the wishy-washy thing that is the way I pronounce English. Some posh English aristocracy accent definetely would be worth a second thought, or some real deep Mississippi Southern. Nothing boring though - if any accent, then some real stuff.

I want my own that says me all over, one that has everyone else scratching their heads trying to figure out what accent I have.

Better than any German I could conjure up.

And besides, if Christoph Waltz is any indicator, you have it better than most Americans anyway, certainly better than most Californians.

Sarcasm didn't work, apparently.

I'd probably go with the "Old Hollywood" accent that everyone in American movies prior to about 1960 seems to have.

Well, I'd love to get rid of my New York/ New England accent, but I suppose I'll ditch that in time.

If I had to chose, I'd totes go Irish.

English accents seem to be popular in my part of Canada.
