Oklahoma City, because most places > Detroit.

No, Detroit actually has a pretty good scene, and that's really all that matters to me.

Did you know that the first parking meter was installed in Oklahoma City in 1935? (One of the pieces of trivia that Judy spouts when nervous in 9 to 5.)

What about Cleveland?  It and Detroit are the worst major cities.

Detroit

Cynically, it's cheaper.

Less cynically, it has better weather.

Oklahoma City has more sun, and that's really all that matters to me.
And this is why Detroit is the better choice. Sunny weather is a horrid thing.

Yeah, usually I'd be fine with this sentiment, but...

Oklahoma City has more sun, and that's really all that matters to me.

So Detroit then?

Detroit.

And yes, I include weather. OKC has a humid subtropical climate, which means hot, humid summers, which is a no for me. Detroit is not much different from Chicago.

My job has taught me that black people are far, far more preferable than old white conservative Christian hillbillies. For one, black people are more polite and respectful towards service workers; they don't take crap and they don't give crap. They don't preach religion to me (other than "have a blessed day!"), they respect me and my religion, and are eternally grateful for what my charity does in their communities.

On top of that, black American culture is far more interesting and colorful (literally and figuratively), in addition to the huge population of refugees and immigrants from Asia adding to the cultural landscape.

Detroit has enormous problems, I fully acknowledge that. But the alternative is OKC. Tongue
Protip: It's not ok for people who are not black to say that black people be like x y and z.

God, this thread. Detroit, obviously. In general, I prefer to be comfortable in multiple layers of clothing, and not worrying about sweating in "normal" weather. Normal security procedures will keep most of your crap safe in the neighborhood I'm stuck in right now, and that's hardly the only area of Detroit. Midtown's nice, for example. I don't recall being shot yet. And I work night security right now and have yet to see "incidents". In any case, your entertainment can be derived from bars, venues for various genres of music, and other adult things.
